I have similar situation where my wife's birth wasnt registered. I went to court to swear an affidevit/age declaration. It was acccepted by CIC. But I dont know if your country has room for this court document. Country law differs. So find out.

Thanks for your reply my friend..Yaa I will be sending out affidavit for my case as my birth was not registered either..The problem is with my wife..If birth is not registered then its fine...but what if birth is registered in a different year....that is the problem..Do u suggest that I write to seattle visa office stating all the facts and then say what they say...

Just curious...what was the reason for registering the Birth yr in a different yr? And what is your defense points for that?

Was it plain oversight that it was not detected or was it left like that till the NEED that has risen now?

Hey Mitali,

I don't know...This question has to be asked to my spouse parents...In those days the birth registration is not important at all...so they just took a year ahead...I don't exactly know why parents used to do that in the past...I need birth certificate because seattle office asked us to supply BC for me and my spouse...

yajumba,

I dont get the whole picture. Are u about including her in your application? or does CIC request for her birth certificate now?

If u re about adding her to ur application, i think it will be easier for u to change her passport according to the DOB on register.
I think it would be easier and more logical to change the date on the passport than to change a registered date of birth.

Hey all,

I have been asked by Seattle visa office to submit Birth certificates for me and my wife. Here is the summary:

My birth was not registered so I got non availablity certificate from the municipality where I was born. So no problem. As my wife actual birth year was 1981, but all the documents including passport has her DOB as 1982...We tried to obtain Non avaiability certificate for my wife for the year 1982 but municipalities authorities in Krnal, Haryana refused to issue that certificate and rather told us that they will search for three years i.e. 1981, 1982 and 1983..If the birth was not registerd in these three years then only they will issue us the non availability certificate..But I know (from my wife's parents) that here birth was registered in the year 1981 so municipality will be issuing birth certificate for the year 1981 instead if 1982....what should I do now as my wife DOB is 1982 everywhere...

Pleae seniors suggest as soon as possible..I have very limited time....

thanks in advance
If her D.O.B in her school certificate and her passport are same, then you submit the school certificate for the prof of her D.O.B. If the passport is having different date than school certificate, then you can get the passport corrected.

Thank you all for your prompt reply..Yes she has the same DOB in all her documents i.e. 1982 like school certificate and passport...

Wilson, I already submitted a notarized copy of her school certificate when the office asked BC documents along with my medical request...But they again e mailed me that they need birth certificates. By school certificate u mean grade 10 certificate right...

Lets see what happens...

Yes, school certificate means Secondary school ( 10th )certificate which shows the DOB, address and father's name on it. You can tell the visa office that her birth is not available and only proof is the school certificate.
