URGENT Help needed asking for friend: Missed passport submission deadline PGP 2020

Hi all ,

My friend applied PR for her MIL under PGP program and at time of application her MIL was in Canada and later she went back to India in September. In later Dec 2021 she received an request to do virtual landing for her MIL. My friend raised an webform to inform about place change for her MIL. Later on Feb 01 she received an PPR but unfortunately she saw that only on 11th March. Already passed 30day deadline to submit passport. As soon as she saw the letter she raised an webform to extend the passport submission . Any one faced this kind of situation ?? She is so stressed as they clearly mentioned that passport submission cant be extended. To top it up her MIL medicals expiring in Sep 2022

In addition to contacting IRCC, since it is only a few weeks at this point, she might try contacting directly the VFS office that she would use. Or even just try submitting it (using whatever procedure there, differs a bit by country).

No guarantee but I am guessing that this happens relatively frequently and if it's not a big delay, they might just ignore missing the deadline. If they end up asking, try to give some neutral "sorry was unavoidable/events beyond our control" reason.

Don't think the medicals themselves will be the issue except that COPR (landing time) probably limited by the medicals.

Would suggest just submitting the passport for stamping with a short apoligy for the delqy and not waiting for a response.

Yes they did, she wrote an explanation letter and submitted passport and Visa got approved and she is coming nxt month
