URGENT HELP needed--ADDITIONAL DOC, UCI number (??)

Hi All

I had received a letter requesting additional document and I totally misunderstood the letter and thought only one document was required.
The letter was more or less saying to provide the following documents

-XXXX (my UCI number)--NAME:
-CELPIP result

I did not realize the first one was actually a document required, and thought it was just there for reference. BUt I read in a different thread that they are actually expecting a proof.

Question
1) what proof do we give for UCI number
2) i have already uploaded my CELPIP.. so now I cant add a Letter of explanation or anything related to UCI

Please let me know if you were in a similar situation, what is your understanding on this UCI doc, and finally how can I have this sorted out?

Thanks I will do that. But I had already a copy of my work permit under my passport/travel section.
I find it weird that we submit same document twice. What do you think?

I was asked to submit RCMP again within 3 weeks of uploading the first one. I guess they miss it sometimes.

they will ask replacement sometime again. The one you uploaded might be not clear.

I also got a request to upload my CELPIP result again. I had submitted this along with my application.
Just scan and upload workpermit and ceplip result. All will be ok.

I have increased resolution of my scanned to make more clearer.

Despite reading this post, I failed to send my UCI while submitting my CELPIP. Thanks to nataliafrance, I was able to catch it today and sent my UCI via webform.

You don't need to submit anything there, its just a identification line in reference to your application with that UCI number. Just send the document related to the second line...!!!

Its confusing, I had same request...it says submit following documents
and two bullet lines...so i did scan of celpip and workpermit(for uci proof) and submitted via webform.

They quote that by knowing only from your application and after confirming it with your WP. They write it only to confirm it that the letter is directed to you, not someone else.

I checked my submitted documents in mycic account. In description of additional document i uploaded it shows only CELPIP/IELTS not proof of UCI.

If CIC needs UCI proof then they must have another space to upload it!

It's confusing...I thought the same as you did but there are two bullet points in the letter and says documents so I confused. The UCI was already on the top(red) so if they don't need then why mentioned below again? my request letter is below:

you Guys are unncessarily dragging the issues. I got 3 request letters and all of them have UCI number in the first line, does it mean that they want my WP 3 times?? If you dont trust someone then why you asking question? Why dont you hure a lawyer, if someone is saying that he must be knowing sonthing and have checked the authenticity of hus statement before commenting here...!!

It's not confusing. UCI number stands for Unique Client Identifier Number, as in Client Identification Number.
"A Client Identification Number (Client ID), also referred to as a Unique Client Identifier Number (UCI), can be found on any official document issued by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office, Case Processing Centre or a Canadian visa office outside Canada.
A Client ID consists of four numbers, a hyphen (-) and four (4) more numbers (example: 0000-0000).

A person who has never dealt with Citizenship and Immigration Canada before will not have a Client Identification Number."

They are not asking for any proof of UCI from you, but, in your case, for CELPIP results. The way they attention the letter and are communicating with you is through your UCI number. Let's say your name is John Smith, and UCI 1234-4321. They just said "Hey John Smith, with UCI 1234-4321, you need to provide us....". This is to make it more clear for them, because there can be lots of John Smiths, but there will be only one with number 1234-4321. Get it now?

I do not think the answer was that obvious.. considering the call centre I called advised me to attach work permit and other senior members in this forum also did.
So please keep your disrespectful comments to yourself!
in english if you states provide the following documentS, and then indicate two bullets points, it automatically pushes u to include TWO documents..'PERIOD.

Also, this forum is here to help each other, and possibly avoid going through the expense of a lawyer. Not everyone can afford it
