Urgent help from Quebec applicant please!!

Hello every body
I am collecting the forms to fill out for an application of sponsorship
My wife is Canadian ( Québécoise ) and she will sponsor me and I am collection the forms to fill out
Part 1: Sponsorship forms
Sponsor side
• Document Checklist [IMM 5491] (PDF, 159 KB)
• Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] (PDF, 356 KB)
• Sponsor Questionnaire [IMM 5540] (PDF, 160 KB)
Sponsored side
• Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 536 KB)
• Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP] (PDF, 472 KB)
• Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669] (PDF, 170 KB)
• Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] (PDF, 88 KB)
• Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire [IMM 5490] (PDF, 142 KB)
• Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 55 KB)

I understood that we have to fill all forms above and we send all together along at the same time.
And we will wait for the approval then my sponsor will send an application to ask for CSQ

So,
Firstly What forms my sponsor will fill and send at this time?

Secondly, in this form
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf
which it is “Generic application form for Canada”

in the question no. 7-c they ask about the no of CSQ and when I applied for it!!
I should fill the form in the first step, How I can answer this question while my sponsor will ask for CSQ in the second step?
All theses make a big confusion for me about the forms we must send in the first step and what we have to send when we ask for CSQ.
I hope I could explain my problem because I searched very long time to understand it but I failed until now.
I need to understand the clearly the steps as I am afraid that my application will be returned to me and we lose long time!!

Hi Sakaka,

So about the forms, you are completely right. Except for the Additional Dependents/Declaration you only fill this form if you have any other dependents (in addition to five allowed on IMM008) that will come with you then you will need to fill this form.

As for the question on IMM 008 concerning the CSQ, I also applied to sponsor my wife and I live in the province of Quebec. I had to call the call center to clear this up, as it is true that it does not make sense to put when you applied for the CSQ where you have to get an approval from Canada first. The call center person told me to put in any date just to complete the form, and then cross it out by hand and put N/A. They know there is a bug in the system.

For how to go after for the CSQ, well yes you send everything to Canada first, or in your case your wife does. And then, after a long wait of around three months you get an approval letter that you print out, fill out some more forms from the Quebec government, pay some more fees and then you send it to Quebec. They process it within 20 days and send you sponsor back the CSQ for you. And only after that the file is transferred automatically to the visa office.

only about the Additional Dependents forms, good, I got it now, so I want to ask about the Dependents whom I can add on the IMM008 form
I have 2 kids actually from my old wife, but they are so young, 7 and 5 years , I added them as Dependents and I can add also my parents , right?

Not sure if your parents can be put as dependents. I would say no. We did not have any dependents at all for my wife. We did not put the parents and we do not have kids yet.

For the purposes of a spousal sponsorship, parents are not dependents. They are additional family members, listed on the IMM5406.

Dependents in a spousal sponsorship are non-Canadian citizen/permanent resident children.
