You are correct. For example, if someone is working 60 hours a week for 8 months. It doesn't count as one year based on number of hours.

CIC gives priority to calendar year and number of hours are additional criteria that needs to be met.

From what I understand, it seems you said on your profile you had 2 years of Canadian work experience. Therefore, they were expecting proof of that, which you didn't provide. You only have one year (18 months more precisely), which indeed is enough for CEC.

Once they revised your profile for one year, your score dropped below the cut-off. Meaning, you wouldn't have been selected in the first place, and your selection was invalidated.

That small mistake/ misunderstanding, and the dropped score, is the reason that brings the refusal.
Should your "revised" score have still been above the cut-off they would have processed your application.

CIC doesn't care about hours. They care about months/weeks. Full-time is at least 30 hours. Whether you work 30, 40 or 50 a week it doesn't give you more. Normal vacation time is of course included.

You can order GCMS notes, but your already have the answer here. Just need to re-create a profile with correct number of years.
Though it seems your score is a bit too low to get ITA. :(

How do they calculate hours for existing job? I mean we dont get ROE for existing job so do we have to submit 52 pay stubs to prove hours ?
I only submitted 6 months of pay stubs as i lost many of the earlier ones. Its getting scary now. :eek:

If you claimed that you worked 40 hours per week for example and all your paystubs show around 40 hours, they will assume that that is representative of your entire time working there.

I dont think you have anything to worrry about.

The above case was very different, where he had 18 months of work and claimed it as 24 months based on additonal hours. Doesnt seem to apply to you.

No man. Most of my pay stubs are of 80 hours biweekly bt few here and there are around 62 when i was sick or visiting US for Holidays. What should i do now?
My reference letter mentioned me working 'on average 37.5 hours per week'

Im going back to calculate my experience based on weeks and not hours and see where I am. I was really hoping not to have to start the process all over because I my language test results are expired now and I just finished fighting with the FBI for 6 months to get my PCC :'( :'(

Its just been one problem after the next, but I shouldnt complain, I know tons of people have it way worse than I do in trying to stay in Canada..

That sounds just fine then, as anything over 30 hours is full time anyway so you dont get a bonus for any hours worked above 30 hours so no matter if it shows 62 or 80 biweekly, both are over 30 so full time either way.

Ok. Thanks. I checked and found that i have submitted 13 pay stubs covering 26 weeks (6 months). All of them have 80 bi weekly except 3 which have 75, 76 and 63 biweekly hours.

My reference letter mentions me as working on average 37.5 hours a week. I am pretty sure my manager has not averaged exactly coz he doesnt seems to go in that detail.
One thing which is scaring me is the omission of my 4 weeks vacation. Here is my case-

Started at the position in sept 2014 while waiting for PGWP
Got PGWP in on 15 oct 2014.
Kept working full time untill may 2015 and took 4 weeks off to visit family,
June 1, 2015- joined back,
Worked full time till filling of App in march 2016.

Now if I do the math, and by using my reference letter for hours, i get 37.5*52*XX(my wages). = YY,YYY which is 4 weeks pay more than the amount on my T4 for 52 weeks. Will they reject it due to this mismatch?
The problem is my letter would not tell them anything about 4 weeks off so if they do above calculation, they might get confused and reject it.

Sorry for asking too much, can you pls enlighten me about the process?

Don't worry. I just submitted my 1st and last pay stub and T4s. My job letter has hours that I've worked. I'll let the VO do all the calculations ;D

As I understand you only work one year full-time. It will only matter if you claim points for 2 years. I think you will be okay, dont worry too much ;)

CIC allows for "regular vacation" which means 2-3 weeks of paid vacation (or whatever is usual for your NOC). What you're describing sounds like 1 month of unpaid leave of absence (which is a break in employment).

If you had applied right at 12 months of eligibility, you might have a reason to start sweating, 'cause the VO could decide you only worked 11 months. But your case, you clearly worked more than 1 year, even after subtracting a month.

This should not cause you any problems. But it would have been better if your letter had been more precise and complete, including your vacation / leave of absence, then you wouldn't be getting worried at all!

Even if you are taking vacation the hours should be 80 biweekly, as it includes working hours plus vacation hours. So you are good, I think your reference letter should also mentioned the work hours per week.
