I applied in Jan, 2017. Common law outland old forms.

Everything was going well. In April, BC went in process. I ordered gcms notes, it says recommend passed and no concerns by first officer. Then yesterday, I received a letter to call me for interview in one month by HKVO. I cannot believe this.

I am on study permit in Canada, currently going to school, I DO NOT HAVE valid entry visa to reenter Canada. If we failed the interview, the worst situation is I will not be able to fly back to Canada.

My partner is also going to school too. If we go to interview, we will have to drop all course and lost all tuition.

I have ordered new gcms notes again to see what is going on.

Should I webform more prof to the VO to ask if the interview can be waived? What about ask MP for help?

What should I do?

Thanks so much in advance.

our last landlord has my partner immigration document and our infor. the landlord wrote a letter to prove we have been living over a year.
Later, after lease period, due to some reason, we had to move to new place. the landlord was upset about it and wanted to keep our security deposit illegal, which we argued about this. Finally we got money back. but we felt the landlord was a little bit mean. We have a sense, the landlord might said something to IRCC, so that it is leading this interview.

Only the applicant needs to attend the interview. Once scheduled, I don't think there is any way to get it waived.

If you don't have a multi-entry TRV to return to Canada, then in hindsight you really should have applied using inland method for exactly this reason.

What proofs of cohabitation/common-law status did you submit besides the letter from landlord? Typically much more proof is required.

As an extreme measure, you can always immediately cancel your outland app and apply inland from scratch.

I know that when applying Outland while waiting in Canada, it's always the hope there isn't an interview, but in reality, it should be an expectation and you should plan accordingly for that eventuality. You may be able to reschedule the interview with some solid grounds (surgery, final exams, etc), but as stated above I doubt the interview process will be waived. You can try contacting your MP, but realistically, there is little they can actually do to affect the process without it being considered interference (political suicide), other than inquire about the application.

Not to try and give you unrealistic expectations, however, there was a post recently by someone who said that knowing the reasons for the interview from GCMS notes and from MP's inquiry, they were able to waive the interview. Here is the link: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/in-queue-for-interview-how-to-prepare.506993/. There weren't any specific details about the circumstances surrounding these applicants and how they got their interview waived by knowing the reasons, however, it does seem like a good idea to order your GCMS notes again and to perhaps make an inquiry with your MP. When I made an inquiry through mine, they were helpful and I was just required to fill out a few forms and their office got back to me less than a week after they spoke to IRCC.

I wonder if somehow the next officer found fishy the fact you ordered for the notes.
