AOR Received.
29-11-2016
Hello Members,

I need your help urgently, please. My bridging work permit has been refused since i haven't received AOR from CIC sydney office. I am an ontario PNP Certificate holder & applied under PR Economic class - Non express entry. CIC office rejected my application today stating you need to have AOR for getting Bridging work permit.

Can you please suggest the possible ways to renew my status & work permit. How to get AOR from CIC?

First apply for your Permanent Residency work permit not necessary. You can apply with Nomination letter from Province. After CIC receive your PR application they usually issue AOR or First stage approval. Usually it takes 3months to 3months 10 days after your PR application being recieved by CIC. Even my scenario is almost same. Thinking of applying for Vistor Visa.

Pnp Based applications need to attached Approved PNP letter and your employer have to pay $230 for your work permit and you will get closed work permit. They stop open permit for pnp Application even you have AOR.Thats what i know.

Thanks for your reply.

My friend- Bridging open work permit got approved who have got AOR for his PR pnc Non express entry application. So, Applicants with Valid AOR will be given bridging Open work permit as per CIC.

What is that 230$ .. Are you mentioning about LMIA ?

LMIA exemption work permit, your employer has to pay $230 employer compliance fee before you apply.

Bot entirely true. It depends on noc code / category. Plenty of pnp categories do not qualify for open nm permit. Many only qualify for closed bridging wp

I should agree to your suggestion. Again this is really confusing part. Some of friends got work permit of basis of AOR that too open work permit. Recently met 5 lawyers they suggested to apply for work permit only after Medicals. Again No absolute direction in this regard.

Natdn the best possible and realistic option is to follow "Pnp Based applications need to attached Approved PNP letter and your employer have to pay $230 for your work permit LMIA and you will get closed work permit".

I don't have any Employer to give LMIA ,So opting for vistor visa. At present under Restoration period .So every indivual need to take necessary steps to maintain status in Canada.

Yes thanks Siddharth ... Thats the only way ... Its not LMIA ... they call it as LMIA exemption number (Offer of Employment). Even you can choose that option in Work permit application IMM5710E.

I am not sure howmany days will they take to provide that number once Employer submits an application. Do you have an idea ?

I am really in a worst situation, i can see that :)

Depends mostly you may get a response within a month if you submit online application. Worst no way, I have seen much horrible situation. Talk to your employer. Everthing would be sorted out. Just now spoke with CIC agent, she stated it take 18 weeks to get AOR these days. Again they do state maximum time .

Yes i did ... I spoke with my company Law firm Partner. He told me LMIA exception will not work on my case since i have Post Graduation Open Work Permit. I have only one option left which is paper based work permit extension. There by i will get some time to be in implied status. I need to apply that before Thursday since my current work permit expires on that day.

I applied on Aug 10th PR 18th weeks time will be mid of December for me ... Anyways i will get a decision on work permit application most likely JAN or FEB ... I need to send them AOR once i get it... Thats my plan ... ::)

Thanks

Buddy why did you even try applying BGWP knowing that you have not receuved AOR. That was just a bad move. Try getting an employee compliance letter along with PNP work ermit support letter and you can get a closed work permit in my opinion.

Ya Abdul I wrote Letter of Explanation to them but didn't work out well ended up in refusal. I spoke with a Law firm they told me employee Compliance (LMIA exception) is not a suitable option for me Since i am having post graduate work permit. What do you think?

Why won't it work for you?

To get Closed work permit under LMIA exempt category you also need a work permit support letter from province apart from other documents.
I got my Closed work permit right before my PGWP expired with support letter and all.
