Urgent Help - Awkward People

I have posted thrice on this forum. I have never got any type of comment. Not even one person replied. Atleast reply this last time.

I am 29 yrs old. I have near to 5 years of experience in IT. I have done btech in CSE 64% and one year diploma. I was looking for some good masters courses in IT where coding is not required(courses such as business analysts). My preference is Canada. I recently gave IELTS. My band score is 7.5 with no band less than 7. However, I am not getting any good university for Master in information system in canada for Jan intake. Strangely, Canada does not have any IT services related courses. Only coding related master's courses are there. I hate coding.

On the other hand , i am getting many top rated universities in Australia for desired courses. Now, my question is should i join course in Australia? Keeping future migration and job in mind. I am getting MBA from TRU in canada. Should i do mba from less recognised or below level university? Will it impact my future job prospects? I really want to study in Canada, but recognised universities stop admission process 1 year prior. Plz help. Suggest any alternative way. I can give GMAT, but i want JAN intake only.

go for australia. since you already have offers from their top rated universities. why waste time in canada?

coding is part of IT. even server or switches/router/firewall requires scripting to automate routine tasks. coding is rather simple as it only requires logic to formulate an algorithm. which is basically the same as making a process for systems administration.

in terms of job opportunities, if you will do a basic search for in demand jobs in IT for canada, you will get a majority of software development/programming. if you want to future proof your IT career, go for IT security related programs. there is a growing number of cybersecurity shortage globally.

Thanks a lot for replying. I am fed up with data structure and algorithms. I really find them difficult and dull. So, that s the reason I am looking for courses such as business analyst, network consultant, security consultant air IT management where minimal data structure and algorithm is there. I am able to find numerous such courses related to that in Australia but not in Canada. Yes, I will go to Australia. However, I really like Canada due to lenient immigration. I am afraid it will difficult to land up job in Australia or get PR due to stringent rules. Whereas , my crs score is 430 now. I can easily get PR after 2 years of study at Canada. As I am not getting top level courses in Canada in IT. Should I go for low or below level MBA degree such as from TRU, VIU or NYIT? As It can help me get in to product management. Does reputation of University really matter in case of MBA?

Bare in mind, the federal election is coming up next year in Canada, and immigration so far is one of the topics on the minds of people aka the voters . Just as laws changed when the current party came to power , they could just as well change if another party takes their place

I know, but in Australia it is much worse. Both parties are against immigrants. Atleast, in Canada one is favouring. I don't have any problems with conservatives but my only concern is that students really have a hard time in getting job after masters in Australia. Australia's job market is not open like USA. Atleast for 2 years after masters accessibility should be for all. Job market is not mature. Australia PR rules keep on changing.

have you tried looking at different provincial nominations?

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_WHO.html

if you want to study first before you immigrate to canada, be sure that the program you will take up is a progression from your previous education, as well as related to your previous education or work experience. otherwise, you just risk visa refusal.

all publicly funded dli have a fair chance in the job market. as you can see from different threads in this forum. because if only “top universities” offer opportunities, other public colleges would not have been the favorite destinations of international students. its not about which college/uni you got your credentials, but its about convincing prospective emloyers that you are the right candidate for their job vacancies. its about possesing the correct skills for the job. especially in IT. black hats were mostly young teenage rebels who just learned about IT by reading a lot. but they can run rings around even the most talented phd graduate who got his credentials in the world best uni.

All the Canadian universities that you have listed basically cater to international students. An MBA from these programs won't be recognized by Canadian employers.

Hmmm.. i think i am about to make my mind. I have to value education over migration. So, I think , I will go with Australia. It doesn't seem appropriate even to me to do a master's course from substandard University. Thanks again. If any other valuable inputs u r having plz mssg or comment. Regarding any other good master in information system like degree n Canada . Thanks

So Is it really impossible to get a job after doing MBA from these universities?
Nothing is impossible. . If you have Guts then everything is available at your door step. . If you are not stick to Canada and study is your main motto then choose US or Australia... But if you want to migrate post studies then Canada is the best option...

And be assured.. Visa officers are very particular these days... If your program is not relevant to your past studies then they would not issue you a Visa... Don't go for MBA.. Go for a program which is directly related to your field...

And as you have 5 years of study gap.. No matter whether your have been working... do remember.. Opt for masters degree not any diploma program offered at any college.

I had just made my mind about Australia. Now, I am again confused :-/. My first choice is Canada but I am not getting suitable degree courses. Is it really possible to get job after doing MBA from these above mentioned universities? I have heard that in IT skills matter , in MBA college reputation matters. Apart from this, why would my visa officer refuse my application. Can't I convince that I am doing MBA as I have enough experience now I would like to move to management side. I want to move up.in hierarchy

Not impossible but the MBA won't be viewed like an MBA from any other university. The entry requirements are much lower than other universities so not why you would be surprised. Most Canadians have actually never heard of those 3 universities.
