According to the instructions issued after 26/06, all documents including those mentioned in the CIO checklist as well as in the VO specific checklist, need to be submitted with the initial application. I have collected all the documents and waiting for the PCC's of my wife and myself. PCC's need to be submitted to the CIO in initial application as per EG7 issued on 26/06.
The revision of EG7 was issued on 04/08 according to which PCC's are required as a part of the application process and could be demanded during application processing later on by the VO but not to be sent to CIO at application initiation stage! But on the other hand, it is mentioned in the VO checklist which is to be submitted to the CIO in the initial application??
Well, the confusion is that whether to submit the PCC's with the initial application to the CIO or not?? I believe there is no need to submit these initially but the confusion exists!
I would prefer to submit these initially (just for satisfaction) but the problem is that only due to these I would've to wait for another week or so which I think could be detrimental keeping in mind the 1000 cap/year.
Kindly advice me should I launch the initial application to the CIO without including the PCC's??
Thanks in advance!

can you give me the links to the CIO checklist, where it says you should send both CIO checklist and VO specific checklist.
Also show me the link where it PCCs should not be sent at CIO stage.

I would hopefully be able to help you after that.

Dear Maaties,

1. Pls download the pdf: Document Checklist [IMM 5612] from the link below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

In the point no. 12 in this document, it is written that the documents in both the CIO as well as VO specific checklist are to be submitted to the CIO

2. Pls open the following link of the Instruction Guide EG7:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG77.asp

Under the heading Police Certificates, the following is written:

All applicants must submit police certificates/clearances as part of the application process.

Note: Do not submit your police certificates to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing, you will be required to submit the police certificates to the Canadian visa office indicated on your application.

Kindly check it and help me out! Thanks!

If you are sure that the statement on EG7 was only put there after 04/08 and the document checklist as it is, was created before that date, then I would not send in a PCC if I were you. I would point out that statement in a letter saying that it says not to send in the PCC and also print out EG7 and highlight it for them to see.

This is just my opinion. Wait for PMM to answer as well.

Thanks Maaties! I have the same stance on that! Thanks for your comments! :)

Hi Ammaar,

If you really dont wanna loose time then apply without PCC and as maaties said highlight this part so that they can see why you havent send your PCC's. But i will still suggest to wait and send it with PCC as you never no what CIC comes up with.

Cheers
Saki

Thanks Saki, I am trying my best to collect my PCC as soon as possible. If I could, I would definitely send them; otherwise, I would've to follow what Maaties has suggested. Waiting for more comments!

EG7 came in Aug with the new set of instruction to not submit PCC to the CIO.
The VO checklists (i am looking at Delhi and Buffalo) were out in June 2010 and hence have the old instructions..they have listed PCC as of the items to be submitted

The other CIO checklist-IMM612E just mentions to submit all the docs as per the VO and this checklist and also doesnt have any row to specifically indicate that PCC need to be submitted and you should tick mark whether u are including it in ur application..

so my view...: no need to send PCC :)

Thanks a bunch avi_15 ... +1 for you man! :)
