URGENT! - Funds available for my stay

Hello all,

I know there are several threads on this topic but i'm still quite confused. I'm applying for a study permit after being accepted by Carleton University. Its a two year course with an annual tuition fee of 17,688 CAD (the university actually only gave me a range for my tuition 14k-17k so I opted to put the upper value). Accommodation isnt finalized yet but is campus accommodation and is likely to be roughly 8000 CAD per year.

Now for "funds available for my stay", is this figure an annual figure or for the entire duration of the course? I'm being sponsored by my parents and they currently have roughly 47000 CAD available in the account. Which is more than enough for the first year but not the second as well (funds for the second year will be ready by the end of the second year). I'm not sure what figure would be reasonable to put here because all the visa site says as requirements is "Tuition plus $10,000 for a 12-month period (or $833 per month)".

I'd like to get this application right the first time to avoid delays and this is the thing that worries me the most.

yes as you already mentioned, you have to show funds for first year only, i.e., first years tution fees + 10000 CAD,,,, do not make a huge mistake that many of students makes and get rejected,,,, you said that you are sponsored by your parents and funds available are 47000 CAD,,,, which are not enough because you are not only dependent on them,,,, these funds are for you, themselves and for your siblings also. so show funds in your name that would make good application,,

You have to provide proof that in the second year there will be available funds from you father business, sell of the property and so on.

The funds available in the account mentioned are dedicated to my stay in Canada and won't be used for anything else. There are funds available in other accounts for the different needs. I will also be attaching a signed "sponsorship letter" from my father stating his intentions to fully support my stay.

Correct me if I'm wrong but with this I think putting the 47k should be enough for the purposes of the visa application.

if there are more funds available in other accounts then also provide their details. because if you are getting sponsorship from anyone, CIC needs all details of sponsoring person, his/her salary, business etc, 47k CAD would be enough if VO is satisfied that these are only for you

You do not have to apply for TRV. CIC will issue it together with SP. in case with SP you do not need to apply for TVR separately or ever.

Isn't we need to apply for TRV separately if someone got study permit extension within Canada.
