Hi,

This is what I have recently seen on the CIC website. "New: All applicants in the Federal Skilled Worker Class, must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office in Canada as of April 1, 2009."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

Does that mean that April 1st 2009 was the deadline for sending applications to CIO under the 38 NOC list rule.....!

Please Advice.

Yes, I think they have changed the Address where the applications are to be sent to

NO, they are still valid, I think only the address has changed.

There are three categories under the Federal Skilled Worker Class:

* Category 1: For persons in an occupation which corresponds to the list of occupations identified in the Ministerial Instructions and have evidence of one year of continuous full-time (or full-time equivalent) experience in that occupation;
* Category 2: For persons who have arranged employment offer with a Canadian employer; or
* Category 3: For students or workers who are legally residing in Canada, and have done so for at least 12 months immediately before submitting their application.

There are two other programs for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents. They are as follows:

* Provincial Nominee; and
* Quebec Skilled Workers.

Please Advice.

I agree Bobby. It looks like this refers to all applications being submitted to Sydney N.S.
But, and I dont want to alarm anyone. My Wife and I went to a seminar about Canadian Immigration in March 2009 and at that seminar we were told by several people including a Government Official that the list of 38 would be scrapped in the next few months.
So get your file sent in a.s.a.p.

I have been informed by my agent that the above information is posted on CIC website as still many people are sending their applications to their home country canadian office instead of sendign to Canadan.

It has nothing to do with change in address or suspension of 38 NOC list for now.
