I’m in a situation and not aware how many people even been in this kind of situation.

I have Citizenship test scheduled on Jan 17, 2019 and received test invitation email on Dec 19. I will be outside Canada during my test date. There was Hamilton office email in the email to inform Hamilton IRCC office for test date change.

I had sent email to that address same day to change my test date. And later I realize the new test can delay my file 3-4 months and I decided to send another email to not to change my test date.

I have called call center multiple times and only one agent went into my file yesterday and told nothing has been changed and it’s too early for them to read email. Some call centre agents advised to call again next year.

Does anyone gone through same kind of situation. Do you think they will change me test date after reading my first email or they will also read second email as well?

delaying anything related to IRCC department is never recommended.
good luck

How far along in advance did you know you were going to travel? You should ALWAYS tell the IRCC about any travel plans you may have so they can schedule anything they need to accordingly. Despite some niche opinions, the government doesn't know everything!

I had informed call centre last week about my travel plans and call centre agent also put the note in my file to not to send me test invite till Jan 20 and they still send to me for Jan 17 test.

So far I didn’t get any helpful answer for my question. I would like to know whether someone has been in same situation like me and how much time IRCC Hamilton take to re-schedule the test.

Nobody might be able to ans this question. But from information on forum any requested changes in either test or oath ceremony can result in a delay of 2-3 months atleast. It can be less in exceptional circumstances but chances are very rare. Bcz the immigration office may take few weeks to respond and than another couple of months before they send you a new invite
