URGENT CIC letter came 70 days later - Restoration Status expires in 11 Days!

Hi,

I applied for extension of my Work & Travel Visa (expired in May 2011) in Feb 2011.

The CIC letter head tells me that they refused my request on June 21st 2011. On Aug 22nd this letter came back to CIC (no idea why! Canada Post). By end of Aug I called the CIC Call Center to ask for the status of my application and the agent gave me the information that the letter came back. I gave him my P.O. Box address and the letter finally arrived on Aug 31st 2011.

My restoration status expires on Sept 19 2011...

Is there any chance I can ask for extension? It in their files that the letter came back...

Restoration period expires 90 days from RECEIPT of the decision. In your case, I would count 90 days from the date of your telephone conversation with the CIC agent because that's when you knew the application was refused. There was a postal strike during that time so if you point that out in your restoration application, you should be fine.

Did you get your restoration already??

i am very worried about that because I have the same problem. I did not change my work, it was easy, I sent all correctly and they refused my extention!
I applied for that on Aug 19 and it expired on Nov 1. I recieved the refusing letter on Nov 10, so, now...i lost my status (for their fault, of course). I dont know what i did wrong and I am looking for that with a lawyer of the university where I work. It happended to me this week, i dont have any news! The university told me that, until now, at least today, I am still working...now..after studying the letter, probably not more.

How can we stay in canada without any kind of Health Insurance? Because, I guess that I it is stop now that I am not more working.
What have you done with that?
