URGENT!! Can I come back to Canada from vacation with a new passport when my PGWP and worker visa is linked to the old passport.

I'm planning on traveling to Pakistan very soon. I have a PGWP which is valid till April which is also when my old passport was set to expire. I got my new passport this March, and the old one was canceled. I know the visa is valid even if it's on an old one but on the cic website it says
"The expiry date on your work permit is linked to the expiry on your passport. If you got a new passport because your old one was expiring, then your work permit will also expire at the same time. In this case, you need to apply to extend your work permit to keep working in Canada."

Does this mean my pgwp is expired and I won't be able to re-enter?? I was planning on renewing my PGWP for the full 3 years after I came back from Pakistan. Please please helpp.

Do you hold a valid TRV? You need a valid TRV to re-enter Canada.

Yes I have a valid TRV in my old passport which lasts till April, which was the expiration date of my old passport.

Same situation here. I have a valid WP until December 2022, valid TRV until January 2023 and just recently renewed passport as its expiring January 2023. Can I travel outside Canada and re-enter, even though the work permit has under “travel document” remarks, the number of the old passport?

I’m assuming as long as I carry both passports + valid WP + valid TRV I should be fine?

I couldn’t find specific info in IRCC or CBSA websites

As long you've valid permit to enter you should be good just carry both the passports.

Just came back from my vacation. You're good to go as long as the TRV is valid
