hi everyone,
IRCC just asked for my biometrics by 06th April, But I am unable to book an appointment at any Service Canada location before that. Only appointments available are from 8th April. So my question is can I still go to the Seattle USCIS to give my biometrics(I live in Surrey) or should I do it within Canada and write them a letter explaining the availability of appointment. But does delaying biometrics delays the processing of my application? If it is so I would opt for USCIS and travel to Seattle if that option is still valid.
I believe you can give biometrics anywhere. But Seattle might be tough considering the whole coronavirus situation

A question about Coronavirus & biometrics , thanks in advance -

I live in California. I have received biometrics instruction letter on March 4th, and April 4th is the deadline.

Since it is only possible to make appointments 2 weeks from now in any nearby centers, I walked in one of them. People there said they don't accept walking-in even if I have an appointment which is scheduled later this month.

However, I am concerned the possibility that ASC may stop serving by the appointment day due to Coronavirus. One USCIS center in Seattle was already locked down because one of their employees got the virus. NorthCal is also at high risk. I asked the people at that ASC what I can do if the ASC is locked down when my appointment day arrives, since another 14 days will put me beyond April 4th deadline, will my case be rejected because of the delay? They said they understand my concern but they can do nothing about it.

QUESTION: I am sure I am not the only person facing this dilemma. What should we do? IRCC has a guideline to extend biometrics collection from 30 days to 90 days, but that only applies to China, South Korea and Iran. What if the ASC I made appointment with stops serving? Should I drive to every ASC nearby and ask if they accept walking-in?

Please disregard comments which says walk-ins are welcome. I went to USCIS today for my biometric assuming walk-ins are okay. They strictly require appointments. At least for Boston. I have to go again now since they didn't have any appointments available for another two weeks.

Atleast the Tampa center ACCEPTS if you have an appointment for a later date. No walkins allowed

The center I visited (Modesto, California) said they used to process appointments for a later date before, then IRCC told them not to do that anymore. Guess this is the rule of thumb, but some (lucky!) centers still do not know, or not care.

Appreciate if anyone finds a NorCal center that accepts early walk-in -- I am still trying though I don't have high expectations.

Yes it could depend on their work load . If you stay near a center doesnt hurt to just give a try, thats what I did as the USCIS just 2 miles from my house

I am in same situation. ASC is closedown and my biometric collection will expire. What did u all do ?

Its same case as people had their visa interviews got cancelled abroad. So we cant do anything. We all need to wait till they resume services. cic always gives time and understands about it as current situation effects everyone. Same case for us when we had to get fbi report which takes 3-4 months(when cic usually gives standard 30 days to submit the documents).

Guys- please post if any update on this, I am also waiting for Biometrics.
CIC has extended the period to 90 days from the date ur instruction letter was issued, so book ur appointment whenever service Canada Centre in ur area is giving availability. In my case i got an appointment on 04th may as they r expected to reopen the service Canada center on that date. Hope everything will be under control by then
