I currently hold a pgwp. I am just wondering whether i am the only one in this situation among all of us here in this forum. I am currently a Registered Practical Nurse that works under a valid nursing license. I works for employment agencies and had gathered all my qualifying experiences and documents( t4s, NOAs, pay stubs, reference letters) through them and now someone here in this forum said that agency doesn't qualify. I am just wondering whether anyone of u here have worked and applied cec through agency and get approved or dissaproved?????? pls i need to know because i will be sending out my application this week and my work permit states to work for any employer.. I am really sick and nervous to my stomach now.. pls help me :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

Don't worry!!
Employment agency assignments count towards your work experience as long as they still fulfill the NOC 0,A & B requirement. The only issue people often have with employment agencies, is that they don't want to write you the reference letter in the format CIC would like it, or if they provide you with one at all. If you can proof the experience as required, then it doesn't matter who your employer was or if you worked as a temp, as long as you have had a valid work permit.

Thanx dear Senorita. Does it mean that since my employment is not under contract with the agency and my agency have been deducting income taxes, pension plan, EI, etc from my payments and provides me with t4s and i got NOAs from CRA, they are considered as clear employer?????? in this case, am i eligible to apply through them????? i really appreciate ur response

You would know the kind of arrangement you have with the employment agency best. From those links, if you answer yes to all or most of the below(not an exhaustive list), then an employer/employee relationship is established.

1. Are you paid by the hour, week or month?
2. Do you have specified hours of work? That is, you don't get to chose your own time of work?
3. If you incur expenses for travel related to work, does the agency pay for it?
4. Does the agency contribute to employee benefit plans on your behalf?
5. Do they deduct income taxes, CPP, EI, etc?

Thanx Senorita, to answer ur questions, I answered yes to all the above question except question #2 because I choose my availability to work and other than that, i must say yes to all. Am i still eligible???? I am still confused!!!!!!!
