Hi Friends

Me, my wife and our daughter recently got COPR.

I lost my father recently in April 2021 due to Covid.
I am the only son. My sister is married.
Now, as my mother will be alone in India, when I move to Canada,
please advise, what should we do?
cant take her along right now as she doesnt have tourist visa.

Please advise, what is best for everyone in this situation?

I am very worried for her visa and want to take her along with us, as there is no one here with her.
Please guide, for any points which I should consider in mind. Thanks in advance.

Land in Canada get a pr and apply for a parent's visa. Get her a caregiver or one of you go back and stay with her till the visa gets approved.

Apply for a supervisa for her after you land

By parent's visa u mean tourist visa??

Yes!

PR holders' parents are entitled for 2 years long-term tourist visa or as they call it: Super Visa -
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/parent-grandparent-super-visa/eligibility.html

In three (Income tax) years, you will be able to make them permanent resident as well -

Till then keep renewing the Super visa. So ideally, you might have to renew it only once.
Do what Navin suggested.

There is no entitlement so visas are not guaranteed. To apply for SuperVisa the OP must meet LICO for 4 people over a period of time. PGP is by lottery after meeting LICO for three tax years. Some people never are selected by the lottery.

Parent visa is a super visa. You can only apply for a super visa for your mother AFTER you have moved to Canada and are working in a job in Canada that meets the minimum income requirements.

If you want to apply now, your only option is a TRV / tourist visa.

Once you arrive in Canada, you will need to first find and start working in a job that meets the minimum income requirements for the super visa. For a family of four, this means you need to be earning around $50,000.

Processing time for the super visa is around three months but can take longer if there are delays due to unavailability of biometrics and medical appointments.

You can apply for the super visa directly.

You should work in the job for a few months before applying for the super visa. Sometimes IRCC doesn't accept employment letters and pay stubs as sufficient proof of income and you have to wait until you have a T4 or Notice Of Assessment (NOA) which you will only have in Feb or later next year if you start working this year.

To be approved for the super visa, your mother will have to pass a medical and also show ties to her home country (the same as a TRV). I'm not sure I would say parents get this visa easily. Some are approved and some are refused.

3. Where I can check the insurance plans which can be taken for her?

1. It depends on the severity of these conditions and the underlying factors. If they are mild, then it shouldn't be a problem.
2. Yes, you'll be able to use the T4 you get in November.
3. I don't know.
