Urgent advice req if possible

Long story short

I'm a uk citizen married to a Canadian citizen and living with her in Intario. I have a closed work permit which will expire in 31st March. I have a PR spousal app in progress and an IWP app which should produce OWP in next couple of weeks or so.

I received bad news this morning and I need to return home to uk for a week next week.

I'm worried about any issues about not being re admitted etc.


Anybody please advise their thoughts

If your closed work permit is valid for the date you are returning back on - you should not have anything to worry.

Make sure you have a visa to comeback to Canada.

You need to have a valid eTA to fly back to Canada. You should have no issues re-entering.

As stated in his first post, OP is British and therefore visa-exempt.
 
That's very interesting.

I had one I applied for a year ago before I came to canada. It was all good.

When I landed and got my work permit I got an email from CIC saying they had cancelled it.

Should I apply again or would that still somehow be valid!

Check here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?s=10.

If it's no longer valid, you need to apply for another one.
