Hello all,

Me and my spouse are expecting to receive an invitation next week. We are living abroad and soon will be visiting our home country. We checked the prices of medical test, and found out that we can save up to 500 USD if we do it in our home country.

Do you know if it is possible to do the test back home or we should do it where we live?

Another question, is it enough if I ask for Upfront medical examination for permanent residence permit for Canada, or there is a specific medical test that I need to ask?

Asking for upfront medicals for PR purposes would suffice.
Thanks Asivad for your reply. I have a slight problem, I called a panel physician and he says we provide four types of
medicals:
1- Workers
2- Students
3- Family class
4- Visitors

I don't know which one to choose? Do you think I can go with ``Workers"?

I have the same question. I'm working on a PGWP and wondering which class apply to me. Family or workers?

I have seen different feedback from different places. The place where i went for medicals they said they only put VISITORs for people coming for express entry.

For several of friends i have seen "workers" for those on a work permit and "family" for spouses. But i have now also seen people being put "visitor" and being accepted.

Bottom line, it doesn't really matter. The important thing are

a) Non EDE. If it is EDE, it means you were a refugee or spousal sponsor who is exempted from Excessive demand. So this is wrong for all economic class PR applications. Correct value should be NON EDE.

b) Some indication on your file clearly for CIC that it is for express entry permanent residence application. So they do not put it mistakenly as medicals for work or study permit. Usually you would take your ITA's print out along and the doctor will upload it with your file which clearly states this.

There are people on work permits on this forum who got it done with "worker" or "visitor" both.
