I have recently received an ITA under the Express Entry Route. During submission of my Express Entry Profile, I had filled in the field ‘Name’, as Vinti Narula, as it appears on my current passport. I have been married, since July 2018 and name registered on the marriage certificate is ‘Vinti Narula Agarwal’, adding the surname of my husband, to my given name. The same has very recently been updated under the field ‘Name of Spouse’ on my husband’s renewed passport, as it was expiring this year.
The challenge I am facing is, that my passport, issued much before marriage, still holds my earlier name, ‘Vinti Narula’, and not the post marriage name, ‘Vinti Narula Agarwal’. My passport is due for renewal next year.
Should I apply for a change in name, when I apply for a passport renewal and police clearance certificate, as per the ITA requirements, from Vinti Narula (name registered in PR Application) to Vinti Narula Agarwal or retain the name.
Would be grateful for any quick advice/ assistance with this
