Who can’t become a sponsorSo does IRCC not like it that the sponsor recieves dissability or EI?
Who can’t become a sponsor
You can’t be a sponsor if you:
- have failed to pay:
- an immigration loan
- a performance bond
- family support payments
- have failed to provide for the basic needs of a previously-sponsored relative who received social assistance
- are under a removal order
- are in a penitentiary, jail, reformatory or prison
- receive social assistance for a reason other than a disability
- are still going through the process of bankruptcy (undischarged bankruptcy)
- were sponsored by a spouse or partner and you became a permanent resident less than five years ago
- sponsored a previous spouse or partner and three years have not passed since this person became a permanent resident
- have already applied to sponsor your current spouse, partner or child and a decision on your application hasn’t been made yet
- were convicted of a violent or sexual offence, or an offence that caused bodily harm to a relative—or you attempted or threatened to commit any of these offences
Yeah, the main reasons getting married the first visit.Only visited her twice, and for 2 weeks at a time.Anyway its not the sponsor who get refuse, its after the interview
A lot of red flags
The fact you have almost 10 years difference, you are canadian she is from Republica Dominicana, website latinamerucancupid, marriage on first visit, she didnt visit you etc.Yeah, the main reasons getting married the first visit.Only visited her twice, and for 2 weeks at a time.
The interviewer asked my wife why I did not visit her more.
She also asked her why she didn’t come to Canada with a tourist visa to visit me.
What should I do when I re-apply?The fact you have almost 10 years difference, you are canadian she is from Republica Dominicana, website latinamerucancupid, marriage on first visit, she didnt visit you etc.
We here a lot of story in the news
Having more history together before re-applyWhat should I do when I re-apply?
Any tips?
The 10 year difference is not an issue, especially if the husband is the one that is older than the wife. This is not a red flag at all.The fact you have almost 10 years difference, you are canadian she is from Republica Dominicana, website latinamerucancupid, marriage on first visit, she didnt visit you etc.
We heard a lot of story in the news
So how can I explain this on the re-application? Do I have to provide the same wedding info, fotos, how we met on the second application? The 10 year difference is not an issue, especially if the husband is the one that is older than the wife. This is not a red flag at all.
The fact that he is Canadian and she from DR is not a red flag either.
The other three (meeting on a dating website, marriage of first visit, lack of visits) are legitimate red flags. The biggest being getting married on first visit. That is the huge one.
I hope im wrong about this case, but there a lot of stories about people from Dominicana Republica that want to go out of the country, so get marry, sponsor and disappear after PR and in this case, the website, the age difference, married on first visit. The 10 year difference is not an issue, especially if the husband is the one that is older than the wife. This is not a red flag at all.

Sorry to hear about the negative result, Dave1984.So how can I explain this on the re-application? Do I have to provide the same wedding info, fotos, how we met on the second application?
And if so how do I know they wont refuse her application again based on these “red flags”??
Is there any hope of convincing these people this is real? What can I do the second time around?
Thanks it has been a really stressful night yesterday, when I got the news.Sorry to hear about the negative result, Dave1984.
It seems as though several others have pointed out some of the potential red flags, so no need for me to repeat them. To answer some of your questions, yes, you will include some of the same information/proof used in your first application in your next one. Yes, you'll still document how the relationship began, wedding photos, etc. Critically though, you'll have to substantially build off of what you already have, providing hard proof of a genuine relationship (as determined by IRCC). This can include more trips to see each other, actually living together for stints of time, combining finances, etc.

So is it okay to use the same photos, screenshots of the chats of the last application?
