Update address online @ CIC website

Folks, we are moving to a new place and I changed address already @ CIC website. How long does it take to see it actually updated up there? They say it may take up to 15 days to see the change, but maybe someone can share their personal experience.

I did the same thing and it took one week to see the change on ecas.

thanks admonteal. have you called them to confirm that what you see on ecas is actually in their databases? someone mentioned here that they still may send a letter to your old address accidentally. kindly advise.

When I was expecting my PR card I changed my address online however they sent my PR Card to my old address. I suggest you to call CIC and make sure that they update your address.

I have called CIC to make sure they had the correct address...they said they did....but failed to mail it to my mailing PO Box and used my street address which the post office then sent back to CIC because Canada Post is too lazy to place the envelope in my mail box. They know who everyone in town is (I live in a very small rural town).

Tried to fix this on ECAS but it puts (for example)

123 PO Box 456 7th Street

Im having the same question but I have a suggestion, first change it online then call them. Or just like what I did. I went to canada post and i requested for mail forwarding for all my mails to the new address. its not expensive though
