Unpaid credit card in UAE

Hi, i need advice because i have an unpaid credit card in UAE. i left UAE last april 2019 and i am here now in my home country. i have a work permit in canada (granted last jan 2019) and waiting for my company advice anytime i will go to Canada.

as of the moment , i cannot pay my CC dues this May and will surely miss it. I will bring my family there in Canada and my question is, will the IRCC/CIC still ask for my UAE police clearance once i filed sponsorship being me as the sponsor? or will they only ask my family members PCC since i will be there in canada already when the time comes i will file the sponsorship.
I will file the sponsorship maybe on September or October of this year.

I am under skilled category NOC B.

I will settle my credit card in due time but not for now.

Please advice me on what to do. Many thanks in advance.

Talk to your credit card company and ask for a different payment schedule rather than worrying about police intervention in debt. I don't know the laws of UAE enough to say if unpaid credit cards are criminal.

You will not be sponsoring your family. Only Canadian citizens and PRs can sponsor family members. Not paying credit cards is not a crime in Canada.

You will run into the issue of getting a PCC if your plan is to get PR so you should plan to keep paying off your credit card. Agree that a payment plan might be possible so you should call.

Hi Nerve,

How long did you have to wait till you got your work permit approved??
As i have applied online from UAE as well and its almost 19 weeks now..

Are you sure your application is being processed? Did the employer get an LMIA? Have you been in touch with the employer? Unfortunately there are many consultants who are scammers. They also tend to be greedy and charge huge fees for something that you can do yourself.

I already have a positive lmia... And applied for wp in uae towards the end of jan biometrics done...
