University spring and summer classes.. do i need a study permit?

Hi,

I've graduated from university recently and applied of PGWP which was approved until 2016. After a year of working I decided that its not what I wanted to do, and thus im going back to school. I applied for spring classes (from May until mid-june) I just want to make sure I am not going against CIC rules? Since on the website I can study for 6 months or less without a study permit. I also applied for a program in the fall term (sept onwards) and I will be applying for my study permit then.

I have the funds and currently waiting for an inland PR application as well.

Recently I called CIC and asked whether it is allowed for holder of PGWP to take any academic courses. The answer was yes, under specific conditions. They sent me the following information:

Generally, if you want to study in Canada, you need a study permit.

As an exception, you can study in Canada without a study permit if the:

- Length of your course or program of study is six months or less; and
- The course or program of study will be completed within the period for your stay authorized upon entry into Canada.

These short-term courses include self-improvement or general interest courses, such as painting or language courses. You are also allowed to take courses offered at colleges and universities, as long as the courses are not taken as part of a program.
