Can anyone please evaluate my profile for M.S in Environmental Systems Engg. in U of R Fall 13 term :

Xth - 84.4%
XIIth - 63.4%
B.Tech (Civil) - 63.0%
IELTS - 7.5

Other +ives : got campus placed, strong projects and seminars


Is it necessary to have a supervisor beforehand in U of Regina ?

why ISE? u should apply for ESE or SSE ...industrial systems is more related to manufacturing/mechanical

i want to go for automation and industrial instrumentation(control systems) and U of R don't offer control system in ESE. That's Y!
but i am little bit worry about my low percentage in B.E. what do u say about it?

yes i got admission to PSE but i am opting not to go to regina ...i applied for visa using concordia university instead .......

Yes very much. You are taking a big risk if you dont contact professors even if you are going for MEng program. You might get accepted but it is strongly urged to ask professors for supervision.

Your profile is good. You have to find a supervisor no matter how good is your profile. And if you don't, you will be risking of chances of getting admission.

i heard that applicant don't have to arrange supervisor if he is applying for M.Eng Co-Op program. Supervisor is required for research based or project based programs.

I have been accepted in UoR's MEng (ESE) program.

Btw why have you applied for ISE? You profile is well-suited to Systems Engg Program. Since ISE is relevant neither to your exp nor to your studies, you have sacrificed your chances by opting for ISE.

i want to go for industrial automation and ESE department didn't offer Industrial Automation therefore i applied for ISE they are offering industrial Automation and optimization. So, i select ISE lets c. and i dont think my profile is ok because i got refusal from university of Victoria. M.Eng ECE program.

I still think its a potential mismatch.......u want to go into robotics and industrial manufacturing? ur profile has no back ground on that either like numerical control or CAM background...
