University of Regina Admission: Supervisor Required For MSc Computer Science

Hello,

This is Usman.
I have applied for MSc Computer Science program in University of Regina of Winter 2014 intake.
I completed BS Computer Science from Pakistan this year and my CGPA is 3.66
I am unable to find a supervisor yet. Please share your suggestions that what should I do? I am afraid caz university can reject the admission proposal on the basis that No Supervisor Available

they gave me admission for Mengg as i didnt look for a supervisor ..so depending on how many applications they receive i believe they may consider u for Mengg...

I don't apply for MEng so even then they can consider me for MEngg?

yes happened to me....but if there r a lot of applicants things may change cant be sure....

Mead, what should be the financial conditions and proofs when i apply for visa after getting offer from the university

Dear Usman,

I here share my experience. I applied for the ECE MASc at uottawa and a supervisor was also needed. I spent about a month and talked with all of them one by one. Either that some had no funding, or others were not in office or they did not want any more students. You are advised to talk with the available supervisors-as soon as possible-whose resumes should be posted on the university's website. If they did not reply by mail PHONE them. Make sure to prepare your resume and a letter of intent in which you describe your future research interests (keep it summarized). Make sure they are consistent with those of your potential supervisor. In my case, a supervisor contacted me at the last minute and offered me his supervision. I accepted even though funding was not guaranteed. Good luck with your future endeavours.
