Hello everyone,

My name is Amit Pandey, and I have applied for MEng, Mining Engineering, at University of Alberta for January 2020 intake. Till now the portal is showing Admission Decision pending. It's the end of October, and I am worried about the student Visa processing time. Any one with the same case? Or have already got the admission result for January 2020 intake?

Rony, I am in same confusion. It is almost October end, and they have not yet decided about application.

I've been accepted in university of Alberta (January 2020) but my visa application got refused due to two reasons:
1:you won't leave canada at end of your studies based on your purpose of visit.
2: you won't leave canada based on your personal assets and financial status.

Now, what should i do?

Farwa, when did you apply @ Alberta and when did they give you offer?

Apply again and check ur application. Convince them that you may leave Canada after studies.
How much finance did you show them? And type of finance, loan, savings bank account ?

Actually i was given offer for Fall but they rolled over me to January and i showed a net bank balance of 40 lac pkr.

UoA provide 2019 fall intake also allows you to enroll in 2020 Jan.

In some cases.
you have to speak to the faculty and they allow you for a roll over.

like if you are given late offer letter and you are not able to attend university due to visa processing timings.(my case)

What is your tuition fee in pkr? Was ur bank balance showed enough for 2 years of stay in Canada

I only showed available funds for one year.
40 pac pkr which includes : 26 lac for first year fee and living costs
