hello friends .. i want to apply for canada for m.tech..currently i m in final year of b.tech in mechanical engineering.. please suggest the suitable university for me in canada? thanks.....

It all depends, from fees you can afford OR the coldness you can tolerate =p OR the quality of education OR you overall scores.

Please specify how much fees per semester you can afford and what is you IELTS score and overall Uni GPA.

i can afford almost 2 million for my 2 year m.tech course in good university....i have not given the ilets test yet but i hope i can get 6.5 bands atleast .. my overall %age in graduation will be arround 75% ..& 80% in last 2 years ..i m in last year (4th year) of my graduation .i m in 7th semester nw & the 8th sem is of industrial training only .i want to get prepare from nw,,, please explain more about funds..how old can be the fund that we r going to show? wat about study loans?..i want to apply for september 2012 intake .....thanks....

well the overall amount your telling (2million) if its including your living expenditure and traveling its kinda less. I dont know much about M.Tech but with your scores I think you can get in many colleges\universities there. If your planing for M.Eng U of Alberta is a very good place overall (but it is VERY cold) the fees for two semesters( 1 year) is 8K CAD, and you can get your degree in 1 or 1.5 or even 2 years.(But getting admission there is not piece of cake you need some VERY strong recomendation letters and a very good cover letter).
Some other good uni are.
Uni of Calgary (more expensive but very good field work)
Uni of Sasketchwan or Uni of Victoria (alot CHEAPER and also in somewhat good rankings)
etc ....


I think you should search your uni on your own cuz what I might like may not be of your liking. Once you chose your uni then maybe people here can help you in the admission procedure and Visa process.

thanks for this guiding reply..i have searched on net & i found that U of Saskatchewan meets my requirements i want ur comments on this .please explain about the admission process ,how to apply etc. & also from where can i get recomendation letters and a cover letter from my college or some where else? u also mentioned that 2 million might not be enough then tell me what amount i need actually...U of S requires 6.5 bands in each for IELTS how difficult task is this? waiting for another guiding reply ..thanks.....

buddy i want to sugest u that frst of all u need to do IELTS and after that acrdng to ur score it may b easy to choose colg/uni... Te ik sida jeha hisab a k j tu kise chage area jani k toronto, vancouver etc wal jana chauna ta study jyada expnsv a bt j tu manitoba,qubec, saskatchewan try karega ta less expnsv a te funds te loan wagara ta jad tu koi intitute select kita odo dcid hone a nale ho skda odo tere kol jayada choises hon. Wase kafi dur d sochda aje ta septembr 2011 v ne aea te tu 2012 sochda odo pata ne kehde raje d parja honi a may b wich kae rules badal jan so budy dont take tnsn hope for best.... I'd agree with happygarch, IELTS comes first. Well 20 mill can be enough for sasketchwan and other uni (Regina , Victoria etc) but not enough for some uni's i:e Alberta, Calgary, Toronto etc.
It all depends on the lifestyle you will live there, if you can get good accomodation within 350-400 per month and cook yourself(around150-200 per month) I think you can make it in sasketchwan. There is also an option of part-time jobs, but I would say you not relay on them that much.

Check out there procedure, I think you would need 3 recomendation letters from your professor's , dept: head etc (download the format from the sasketchwan website and fill it along attach a seperate sheet in which the teachers can write GOOD things about you)

and you'd have to write the cover letter yourself and mention why you want to persue your master and why you chooe uni of Sasketcwan.

I think everything is mentioned on there site so go and do a lil work and you'd get it , also every uni has there own procedure I didnt applied there so better of doing your research.

Ohh and try to apply in atleast 2 uni's since sometimes you dont get what you want (happened to me) you always need a back up plan.

thanks happy veer for reply.... ha bro december vich IELTS test dewaga fer band de according e university select kr sakda ...actually last year meri sister ne apply kita c canada da study visa lye ohna di rejection aye c udo ini knowledge nai c te consultants ne v sahi guide nai kita c ta e mai hun chauna k jini jayada information collect kr ska universities bare, funds bare,immigration process bare ta e hun to tyari krn lagya hoya...ha veer eh ta sahi e k toronto, vancouver lye ta study expense jayada honge par money di problem nai e menu eh mai afford kr sakda par eh universties v kafi high ranked ne ta admission requirement jayada hou ohnu e fullfil krna tuff lag reha...nale veer i want to know IELTS vich 6.5 ya 7 bands laine kine k aukhe ne?? ha haje ta 1 year pya e par fer v mai chauna hun to e prepare raha...so je ho sakya ta veer kuj hor information te help except krda tuhade to ...1 question hor k kise consultant di help leni chahidi hai ya aape sab kuj handle krna jayada better hai?? ... thanks.....

thanks golden sky for this reply ,this is really helpful info for me regarding accomodation, recommendation letter & cover letter...i checked the accomodation at U of S its very costly so i thing its better to find some place near the university...thanks for this suggestion yes i will try to apply for 2 or more universities if i fullfil their requirements? can u tell me that what is the for appling for a university i think it should be same for all the universities..yes i m doning a lot of research myself these days but i do accept help from u guys any info u provide can be really helpful for me...thanks for guiding me so far ......

Well best of luck, Well the requirments are almost the same for many uni's (A 3.00 GPA, IELTS score more or atleast 6.5, recomendation letter from professors for each uni**having there own pattern** are the main things you'll need) for finding accomodation go to kijiji.ca (http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/f-real-estate-room-rental-roommates-W0QQCatIdZ36QQSortZ4 for UofS), you can even choose diff places and have an idea about ho much the accomodation may cost.
The time varies for all uni's some even have 5 months early last date. Some uni's (UBC) have last dates as early as Dec for Sept intake.
One last advice which ever uni you like you can email there graduate department and almost all of them help by sending a reply and answering your queries.

I got admission in University of Victoria and don't know much about other unis' (beside Alberta applied there too) ohhh and Uni of Victoria is also kinda cheap. Check it out ^^

ya ver mere 7 ne. Ma uni of regina ch kita e eh saskatchewan da city a regina othe a kam kar ta ghat e milda othe mera wada bro gea othe ohnu kam ne milia hor pase ja k kam karna panda. Mere khyal ch oda jide kol work permit howe othe lae kam kar shayd mil je ha jekar student d eng changi aa ta usnu on campus work permit mil sakda te oh work karda uni ya colg campus ch par as per my knowledge eh sara kuj 6months bad e posible a keo k frst 6 months student othe ja k kam ne kar sakda.
