Capilano University accepts students with 5.5 bands IELTS in few of its programs. Being a public university in Vancouver, the visa success for these programs is very high.

Don't ever go for it. Reappear for ielts instead. Avoid rejections even if university or college accepts 5.5 ielts. You will get a rejection because Border requirements are 6 too now under spp. If you really wanna apply with this score than go for S1 category.

Can u tell me what do you mean by 5.5 bands
Do you mean overall 5.5 bands or each component 5.5 ??

University admission easy to get visa. Why you worry. Many university take admission in 5.5. My friend going to new yourk institute of technology with 5.5

Even if you get admit in any university by either hook or crook, Then after that its a sure short chance that your visa will be rejected due to low IELTS score. In that case retake your IELTS.
Good Luck

5.5 is the min acceptable IELTS score under SPP ..in university category not mandatory however it is never a good idea to apply with lowest acceptable score . A good IELTS score can improve ur chances of visa.

OP is most likely advertising Capilano University and not asking a question so be careful....

Apart from Capilano University, there are other universities that accept 5.5 bands IELTS as well. Normally, these universities do not accept students academic scores less than 60% unlike community colleges that accept 50% academic scores. So, I do not think all these public universities accept every student with 5.5 bands IELTS.

I THINK ONE SHOULD RETAKE IELTS TEST RATHER THAN APPLYING WITH 5.5 BANDS IELTS.

there is no such thing like that my friend have got his visa on 5.0 & is currently studying in canada if the university accepts you then the visa officer is ok with that they can't recject your application on the basis of low ielts.

ur friend got visa for 5.0 doesnt mean everyone would.....its like saying my friend won a lottery so i will win too....let me give u an example mostly 40% is passing grade means below 40% u fail now do u aim for 40% or do u aim for something more than that? it is always better to add a good IELTS score even though it may not be a checklist item(mandatory item) to prove ur good at english. adding good IELTS would improve ur chances of visa ....there is no guaranteed way to get visa so all we do is make our files strong and hope for best.

It is easy to get visa with 5 or 5.5 bands ielts if university give admission . University require good academic and not good ielts.

Actually, the good universities require strong IELTS scores in addition to good academics. Capilano University is not a good university - that's why it accepts low IELTS scores.

ur not getting the point ru? i am not saying it compulsory to add good IELTS but it is in ur best interests to add a good IELTS as it will make ur application strong . it is also not compulsory to add pay slips/ tax forms to the general/university visa application but people do it why? thats because people want to improve their chances.
