Hi guys,
So many topics here, tought to start one for ppl who are UK residents and applied for Immigration and dealing with CHC London. If you share your timeline and experience here plzzzzz, would give us some idea of whats happening at London office as its too slow. I know London office is dealing with Middle East applicants aswell but I have completed my medical on Nov 6 09 and still no communicaton from other end. thanks in advance

You have quite good timeline in comparision to mine where My AOR date is 21 May 2009 and they started processing my case on 7/7/2009 and till now I did not receive any medical request yet and according to MY Caipsnotes the next BFD is 2-04-2010 so look they postpone my case for 9 months for no reason.


I applied with 4131 NOC as well and I had 73 points and they recognised my university and the technical institute where I worked as NARIC so there is no problem at all and all my documents are ok.

I'm in, Just about to send full docs to CHC London in next couple of weeks. Just waiting on a police cert.

Have you sent them an email with case specific request as its been such a long time???

My timelines are as below:

Applied: Dec., 06;
AOR: Feb., 07;
Documents requested: Feb., 09;
Updated docs. sent: May, 09;
Further docs. requested: July, 09;
Further docs. sent: Sep.09;
Medicals request received: Oct., 09
Medicals done:Nov 5, 2009
Medicals sent: Nov. 13, 2009
PCCs, RPRF sent: Nov.24, 2009

It's now over 4 months since I sent my Medicals/ Other Docs. I wrote to them in Jan. enquiring whether they have received all my docs. and whether everything is in order. To my horror, they said they have received nothing from me! I then sent them a scanned copy of the courier delivery note. CIC did not reply to that. I wrote to them last month and they replied that it is 'in process'. I interpreted this reply to mean that they have received my documents. My CAIPS notes received a month back clearly mentions that my Medical for my family have been cleared. The b/f date as written on my file states 01/Feb. But I have not heard from them at all. I wrote to them last week but they have not replied.
Is it normal for the post-Medical processing (Background checks, etc.) to take so long? My employer-company is not doing too well and I am afraid many people in our company may be laid off. I can easily try outside but if then by the time I join any new employer, I would be ready to move to Canada assuming my papers are approved.

How long is the background check taking these days? For how long do you think I have to wait before I get my PPR? It will be nice to have any opinion from you that will help me understand the situation better.

i woulod advise all of you who are waiitn for PPR to email the CHC London for your status update. i ddi the same and they emailed me the PPR request.

Write a case specific enquiry email to the London Office.

Are you sure some people with the same AOR date are being issued visa? Becoz, if you look @ trackit, sept2007 applicants and a few october2007 AOR's are being sent docs update letters. Although, I think there is no specific trend and pattern as to the way they seem to send out those letters. However, a case specific enquiry email might do the trick.

Hi bangalg,
background checks are done by another external body so its not something in control of CIC. Once the report is back to CIC they would be able to proceed. people from countries where situation is tense the reports will take time. keep the hopes high

[/quote]i am pakistani national living in uk but my wife is not with me she is in pakistan. i applied for snip in jun 09 and still waiting for noomination. just wondring what shall i do upon reciept of nomination.can i add her when i apply in canadian embassy in uk and she could have her medical don in pakistan or she have to be in uk with me for medical and after that for visa.
is that any chance ithat i can add her in my application and her case could be reffer to islamabad embassy,what is your expert advice. because it would be quit dificult for me to bring her here.what would they do i mean can they bring passport from paksitan through tne embassys post.because as you know its not legal to carry a passport to a difrent country.

Hi kash,
CAIPS notes are computerzied information that happened to your case step by step, google it. basically you would be asking a copy of it which shows you how much work is done on your file. as i said google it, you will get all required information but you have to pay for it or if you have relitive in canada they can get it for you. there is no harm sending them eamil, remember use contact us on cic website to send them case specific inquiry. ta
