If I complete one year at my current work and then leave the job , does it affect my chances if getting PR anytime later. Is it necessary to still have a job when you have good crs and are offered ITA? I have heard they call the company to verify about the employee and their work, any idea which stage this verification happens and what if the person is not working that time. Thanks

You need to meet the work experience requirements at the time you receive the ITA. If you are not employed you will then need to show proof of funds.

Unless you want to claim the 50 points for LMIA, otherwise being unemployed or not doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter if you apply under CEC. The history of work experience is fine.

CEC does not require proof of funds regardless of employment status.

All you need to do is inform IRCC that you have stopped working. They will still verify your employment history details.

The fact that you have resigned/stopped working should have no implications, current employment is by all means not a requirement for CEC or EE in general.

As long as you meet the 1-year requirement, that is all that matters. You haven't claimed arranged employment with that same employer, in that case you would be in trouble.

Thank you for the replies. Any idea on when does the officer reach out to the employer? People from my company have said that they all had their file verified by calling the companys owner. Is it in the early stages after ITA or the later part? In case I resign after getting the ITA (i know its risky but I am struggling a lot currently and need to move out asap) I wanted to know when is it safe to quit the job. Thanks

As long as you have completed the 1 year of experience, you can quit at any time. (Unless you fear that your employer will lie about your work experience if you quit...) You do not need to be employed at the time of the ITA, or at any time in the process.
