Hi guys,

I really need help of everyone in understanding how the PR points are calculated in express entry. My brother and his wife is applying for canandian PR and I just hope that the agent is not misguiding them.My brother has 10 years of work experience as IT project manager (10 years is total exp, out of which initially he was software engineer and them gradually became Project manager). He is 29 years in age and has done masters from India. His IELTs scores are 8,8,8,7.5 respectively and for his wife is 7,7,7,7. His wife has bachelors degree. He does not foreign exprence or Canadian experience neither his wife has. The express entry point calculator calculates his point as 470 instead of having no Canadian experience. The agent says he should get the invite. Should be believe in his words ??

What's your question?

Has your brother created his own profile or is it being managed by a lawyer?

If it's the latter, what has the lawyer told your brother his score is?

His profile is created by immigration consultant .he went to his office and the consultant used the csr tool to show him the points calculated as 470.

OK, have you tried it yourself?

Has your brother had his education credentials assessed by WES etc?

If your brother has CLB 9 and above in IELTS then 470 is believable.

I used the same tool and it actually calculates 470 ! His IELTS is 8,8,8,7.5 respectively. However, he skill transferability section is giving him 100 points which is maximum. I doubt on how is the system calculating this? Is there something hidden and we should know? I tried to understand the 100 points breakdown by the below link :- .ruichenlaw.com/lawblog/2014/12/5/express-entry-skill-transferability-factors-explanation

And this probability does not make 100 points in his case. I am really confused :(

Skill transferability is broken out below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

Essentially, he has over CLB 9 in ielts (comparing IELTS to Canadian CLB scores - top marks).

This means he gets the top score with transferability.

By the way, never look at any other source of information than the CIC website.
