understanding GCMS notes

Hi guys, I just received the GCMS notes that I ordered on 2/7/17, but it has notes dated up to 3/1/17
Checked MYCIC account and background check is showing "In Progress" but not sure when this was updated as I never received a ghost email or anything.
This is my first time seeing it in In progress but I could be wrong.
I am BCPNP Inland, AOR 11/3/2016. I just had some questions regarding the security portion of the notes

On the top right hand side of this page, I have s.21.
Actually s.21 is listed on every single page that contains “Security.” What does this mean?

According to the privacy act..

21 The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any personal information requested under subsection 12(1) the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the conduct of international affairs, the defence of Canada or any state allied or associated with Canada, as defined in subsection 15(2) of the Access to Information Act, or the efforts of Canada toward detecting, preventing or suppressing subversive or hostile activities, as defined in subsection 15(2) of the Access to Information Act, including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, any such information listed in paragraphs 15(1)(a) to (i) of the Access to Information Act.

Also, what does s.22(1)(b) mean?

22 (1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any personal information requested under subsection 12(1)
(b) the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province or the conduct of lawful investigations, including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, any such information

(i) relating to the existence or nature of a particular investigation,

(iii) that was obtained or prepared in the course of an investigation; or

Does this mean my security check is in progress? Almost over? Or is there a delay for some reason?

Hello Gracekim,

There is nothing to worry about with your notes.
Everything looks fine and your file is ready to finalize. you already passed eligibility, criminality, and medicals the only thing that seems to be pending is your security.

Don't worry about those codes it's only means they won't reveal the agencies contacted during background checks nor information found. This is normal for everyone's note.
Do you als see S.15(1) under admissibility> security?

Just sit tight and expect your PPR mail.

Okay this means your security is not completed yet Or has not been updated if completed.
Recently, I viewed a friend's note, it had the same as yours and I advised him to call cic and when he did, he got a response saying his security was still on going and was the only thing left. Two weeks later, few days after his application assignment due date he got PPR.

So I will say call cic and ask that you got your gcms notes and it says ready to finalize and eligibility etc passed already if they can check what the hold up is.

You might be lucky and get a very friendly, and helpful agent willing to help you check what's going on with your app. Or you can patiently wait. What is your application assignment due date?

Thanks, I had seen that but it doesn't really say anything other than RC-6262 is a Reporting Center or an Office and not and officer... I'm wondering if it's in Canada or outside... If it's outside it may be my LVO...

From the cic gcms operational bulletin that I have gone through, RC 6262 is CIO, Sydney NS. This is the gcms code name for CIO Sydney.

Yes it is Sydney, NS.
Was this during the R10 check? Normally this is when they send files to CIO for R10 done by an agent followed by PNP check done by the program assistant, and A11.2 review done by case analyst before file is transferred to LVO where the officer there reviews your EE - Eligibility and admissibility.

I am sure your security is done but just not updated. According to the office review note 26.. security is finished and no concerns. Just not updated yet.

You are at the finish line, cic just need to help you finally cross it with one more step by sending your PPR request.

You should hear from them soon.

International affairs and defence

S.19 has to do with privacy act. They are refusing to disclose any personal information found etc

Do not worry about both codes. They are all normal especially when it comes to security checks.

In a nutshell, cic is saying we did some checks, and we will not disclose what we searched for, where we looked nor what information we gathered.

Eligibility, medical and criminality all showed passed since August 2016 still waiting for security why so long don't know.
