Unaware of new IRCC’s Sept 7 rule

Hello,

My mom arrived here in January 2021. I applied to extend her visit visa before her 6month’s stay expire (no stamp upon entry). I’ve only learned about the Sept 7 change last wk, and now I dnt knw if I should re- apply for my mom as that means she’s not on implied status anymore as her 6mos allowable stay expired in July or just wait for the decision? Submit a webform? Pls help.

No - do not reapply.

The September 7th change is only for new TRV applications. It doesn't apply to extensions.

Just wait for a decision. Your mother has implied status in Canada until a decision is made.
