Hi All,
Received Canadian PR but currently I am on 3 year professional training program as such I will not be able to meet 730 days residency obligation.
Is there anyway, whereby I can contact CIC and ask them for reconsideration ? ofcourse, all proofs of training will be provided...

Thanks in anticipation

Professional training is not accepted as a reason for failing to meet the residency requirement. So no - there is no way for you to contact CIC to ask for reconsideration.

You'll need to try to reenter Canada before your PR card expires. If you are lucky, you may not be reported for failing to meet the residency requirement. If you are not reported, you should remain in Canada without leaving for even one day until you do meet the residency requirement. You can then renew your PR residency requirement.

Thanks for quick response,
Yes there will be sometime left but I want to go through proper legal ways only..
Will it be a good idea to surrender PR at the moment and reapply using express EOI once done with training ?

No dice...CIC doesn't give you a pass on the RO...the IRPA does for certain circumstances such as accompanying a Citizen spouse or parent abroad, being posted overseas by Canadian company, working for the Government abroad e.g diplomatic service. Your scenario doesn't appear to meet any of the exempted routes. No one knows what streams will be available in the future when you are ready to reapply as you intend to so all speculation. Its better to retain your PR than re-applying so as advised if you enter without report accept your good fortune and live in Canada until you are back in RO compliance.

I am just curious! How do they know that one would not meet residency obligation? In the past few years I just used the Kiosk to enter and take the printout to the officer. He did not check my passport for my entry and exits.

Is it that easy to find the RO by scanning the PR card why do they need so many documents, forms and 6 months to issue a renewal PR card?

Because CBSA is not CIC. When you come into Canada you are dealing with CBSA. They assess you initially, see you are a PR and allow you to return. They know how many times you have been in and out of the country the moment you swipe your card. Don't fool yourself there.

CIC is who thoroughly checks your RO by counting actual days and checking against your stated days and your passport and all that other stuff. They decide if you loose or keep your PR.

CBSA can give quite a hassle at the border, but they can NOT revoke your PR on the spot.

If CBSA want to report you its not that difficult to verify your absences..where do you live is usually a nice opening line followed by where do you work...oh yeah how long....describe how you get to work....it often goes downhill from there for the RO roulette playing PR. Just because you got a pass by the kiosk agent doesn't mean you will get by next time. When I see the grief those reported go through on this forum I just wonder if they realize how little sympathy the courts have for non H&C related breaches...3 years is plenty of time to finalize land sales etc. Its as if coming to Canada was an afterthought really eh!

Thanks Masfiri .... I guess only option is keep fingers crossed for new EOI details to emerge... if feasible with that I might just ask for revoking my PR and apply again once finished with my training...
