Unable to link paper application of Spouse : International Student : Please help

Hello all,

Hope you all are fine.

Before I proceed with my query, I would like to thanks all the members of this forum, as this forum has helped me a lot in getting my own student VISA.

I applied for my student visa in July, 2016. With the help of this forum, I was successfully able to link my paper application to Online.

I have applied for Spouse Open Work Permit for my wife on 03-Oct-2016.

However, I cannot link her paper based application to online.

I have searched throughout this forums, referred to different pages, have found even ways to link application to online, still am not able to link my spouse's application and only getting the output:
"No application found"

So, I am posting my question. I have followed below procedure to link my spouse's application to online:

What did the applicant apply for?
1. Category : Temporary Residence
2. Sub-Category : Work permit and extension

Application Details
3. Please select one: Family Name, Given Name and Date of Birth
4. Family Name : Given my family name as per the passport
5. Given Name : Tried with both:
5.1 My spouse only first name(that is without appending my name after her, which is not as per passport)
5.2 My spouse first name and my name, which is written in passport
6. Date of Birth : Given Date of Birth of my spouse as per passport

Applicant's personal information
Place of Birth
7. City of Birth : Left Blank
8. Country/territory of birth : Left blank

Passport
9. Passport Number : My spouse's passport Number entered as per her passport
10. Country of Issue : India
11. Issue date : Entered issue date of my spouse's passport as per her passport

Details of intended work in Canada
12. What type of work permit are you applying for? : Open (Initial application or extension)

Information about the applicant's work in Canada
13. Current country of residence: India (As my spouse is in India)
14. Current marital status: Married
15. Which situation applies to the applicant? : Spouse or common-law partner of a foreign student

After filling above information, when I search for my application, it says "No application found"

Anyone who has faced such issue?
Will request you all to help me.

What did the applicant apply for?

I think you are mistaken here? I am not very sure but according to my understanding you are selecting wrong category.
it should start with this:
What would you like to do in Canada? - Work
How long are you planning to stay in Canada? - Temporarily - more than 6 months

it is basically questinaire avaiable on Self Assessment kind of form by CIC and after selecting this questionaire leads to Open Work Permit.

Just for the info, may be it helps someone else,

I raised technical issue regarding this in cic website.

Got a reply after 15 to 20 days as below:
Dear Client,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided. Please note that you cannot use your MyCIC account to link a family member’s application.

So, I tried to connect my spouse application with different email address(by different email address, I meant I did not use the same email address, through which, I connected my student's application), and finally I was able to link my spouse application.
