Hi - my son has "Leave to remain in the United Kingdom for an indefinite period" visa in his very first passport (18 years ago). I have a copy of the visa but I don't have the passport anymore. We now need a copy of this passport for university applications to prove that the visa (which has the passport number) matches the actual passport. I have searched and cannot find how to get a copy of an old passport (just need the information page I believe). Any ideas how I can get this if I know the passport number? Thanks.

Do you live in the uk right now? If your son lives out of the uk and doesn't visit every 2 years, he loses his status.

Thank you for the response. We live in Dubai now but he enters the UK every year in the summer's. It's just recently I can't find the passport that has the original visa stamp but have a copy of it. So what I need now is to find out how to get a copy of that passport (I have the passport number). Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You need to apply for a new passport with the embassy of the country you have citizenship with. Once you get the passport, go to UKVI and ask for reissue of lost document.

Maybe try this approach for information https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/requests-for-personal-data-uk-visas-and-immigration Or here https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration

Somewhere here you should be able to get a copy of confirmation of authority to stay in the UK that was issued whilst the old passport was valid and a process to transfer to the new passport number I would assume
