Hello again everyone,

I'm a Canadian applying to sponsor my common-law UK partner.
We submitted our application at the end of September this year (2016) and my partner received an email on the fifth of October informing us there are two documents they still need and requesting to link our application online (to MyCIC) to help things run smoother.

Due to being very busy at the time and, of course, due to the general silliness one has to put up with when trying to link online (No application found!!), it took us until the 25th of October to finally get linked.

The frustrating part is that we have not heard back from CIC since then. Like many, time is sort of a sensitive issue in our case and we'd like to know things are always moving forward as there are so many plans to make around this application.

So... is CIC waiting for us to do something now? We don't know which two documents they wanted.

Usually the email says which documents they need. Its very important to send through the requested documents for this will ensure you have a full and complete application for processing. Linking MyCIC and sending through the requested Docs are two different issue; the Document request being the Vital one. As for the waiting time you may need to check with others from your VO in this forum. Good luck.

Personally, I would check the e-mail again, but I would also call as soon as possible.

When my husband called to confirm we had sponsor approval, the agent specifically told him that we also didn't have any document requests. So if for some reason the e-mail isn't clear about what they want, someone at the call centre should be able to help with that because they're able to see that information.
 
Thanks very much for your replies. I will try calling. I've checked that email again and again and I know that, strangely, it doesn't specify which two documents they are requesting. Here's hoping the call centre can help!
