VISA ISSUED...

As per title really. Should I look at getting a new UK passport now so I don't have to pay to transfer the visa (if issued) when i get it?
Just to clarify, I hope to be going on a TWP through my work initially and at the same time applying for spousal visa.

Thanks

One cannot renew the passport unless its validity is 9 months or less? 2014 is way too early to renew at this point in time.

That must depend on 'country of issue' because my wife did EXACTLY that. She renewed WAY EARLY (I'd have to ask her about dates), to avoid any confusion on her PR application with respect to 'new passport', 'change of name' etc etc when the time comes. Check into that and if they let you, we would recommend that you do so - for sure!

Since the UK is visa-exempt, I doubt if a visa will actually be placed in the passport itself.

Probably just the WP document will be issued by Immigration Canada (or CHC in London).

My passport runs out in 2014 too.

My immigration adviser told me to 'loose' my current passport and get a new one, as my FSW visa would be in it, and would end up carrying 2 different passports for 5 years!

UK is only visa exempt if you're just visiting 'on holiday'...

Renew now for sure!!! I renewed mine with 18 months left on it, and starting a WP and PR application with a new passport was WAAAY easier than having to update half way through, or as soon as I received PR.
