UK citizen - Move from IEC to study visa

Hoping someone can help

I am currently on the IEC visa and am working in Toronto. I am a UK citizen.

I have been accepted to start a postgraduate course in September.

If I were to change apply for a study visa, would it cancel my IEC visa? And therefore would I have to stop working

Or, is it possible to start the study visa when my course starts but still apply beforehand?

I think you can only have one valid permit at a time. But I am not sure if your student visa is issued at the border with a letter of approval then you may be able to just flag pole to start your student visa right before your classes start. You would have to leave your job right before getting your student visa.

Has anyone else gone through this situation before? I just want to make sure I don't accidentally remove my IEC visa before I need to, or get my student visa too late
