Hi there,

Most of my savings are in my Stocks and Shares ISA account with Vanguard (and another with Hargreaves). This money is easily available, I can sell on any business day and withdrew it within a day or less. It's basically liquid.

Would the Canadian immigration authorities accept a letter from Vanguard/Hargreaves with the value of my holdings as a proof of funds or does it have to be a bank statement?

I would really appreciate if anyone who tried this before can help.

Thank you

Hi ,

Refer below URL. Investment accounts are also considered.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...nada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you’re keeping money.

Letter(s) must

  • be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
  • include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
  • include your name
  • list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
  • include, for each current bank and investment account, the
    • account numbers
    • date each account was opened
    • current balance of each account
    • average balance for the past 6 months

Interesting, I should have noticed that. I'm hoping an "investment account" should include a stocks account. In an ideal world, it should, but I'm always worried about bureaucracy.
