I'm currently in the UK. Applied from here.Conor9900 said:Congrats Anya. I'm a very similar timeline to you. Are you applying from within Canada or are you in the UK now?
When you say 'my accounts" do you mean two different accounts? or a savings and current account liked together.Eksler said:Today went to my bank and asked them to produce the letter. The manager printed on a letter head paper my accounts, SC, start dates etc and signed it. As for the proof of the balance he just printed statements for the past 6 months. Not sure if it works for the application though.
I don't keep large amounts in my savings account, however in my current account the balance for the last 6 month has not fallen below the necessary sum. Is it worth transferring that sum to the savings account approximately a month before submission?
Actually I have 2 accounts in the same bank. Personal and also a joint one with my dependant. We need to show all our accounts to CIC, don't we? So I asked the bank to mention them.ETE said:Do you have to get a letter and bank statements for all your accounts or just a letter of the account where your POF is deposited? For example, you have a savings and current account, but you have 12,000 GBP in your savings account, won't you only provide details of your savings account?
You need to show the average 6 months balance of all your accounts to CIC including credit card and loans.ETE said:Do you have to get a letter and bank statements for all your accounts or just a letter of the account where your POF is deposited? Yeah yours seems sensible, since you have two different accounts in that bank.Eksler said:Actually I have 2 accounts in the same bank. Personal and also a joint one with my dependant. We need to show all our accounts to CIC, don't we? So I asked the bank to mention them.
ETE this is what CIC says about Proof of fundsETE said:Ok.
A friend of mine only showed the average 6 month balance of his account where is his POF was deposited and he has gotten his PPR. He has even landed in Canada already. The reason they need the POF is to see if you actually have the required funds to live in Canada, they really don't care how many accounts you have.
So if i have 20 different accounts, does it sound sensible to submit all the bank statements, average bank balance to them? You only submit the average 6 months balance of the account, including credit card and loans.
Note, because you did doesn't mean everyone should! What would you say about people who are not able to get the bank letter because their bank won't allow it? Will that mean that their application is refused? Like i said if someone has 20 different accounts how will they know?Anya654 said:ETE this is what CIC says about Proof of funds
'The applicant should provide official letter(s) from financial institution(s) which list all current bank and investment accounts, as well as outstanding debts such as credit cards and loans'.
Even if you claim to have the required amount in one bank account, your other bank account(s) may be overdrawn which would mean you're indebted to the bank. I have 7 bank accounts which include a credit card and I provided 6 months average balance for all of them. Follow the rules it's better to be safe than sorry as every agent is different.
My bank didn't give me the letter so I sent 6 months bank statements each for all my 7 accounts. Btw if you move money between accounts and you provide a statement for only one account then they can see your transaction history in that statement and figure out your other accounts. No info is too much plus I try to follow rules.ETE said:Note, because you did doesn't mean everyone should! The reason they want to see the details is because they want to know what you have in your bank account, if its up to the amount you claim. If you have several bank accounts with varying amount of money that sum up to what you need to prove, then you can submit the letter and bank statements for all of them. People are also submitting properties as their proof, what would you say about that?
Either way, if you can get a letter and or bank statements for all your accounts, then its advisable to do that. As for me i got a letter with details of my average in 6 months and added my bank statements for the two accounts where i had my PoF Saved.
Wish everyone goodluck!
Yeah, it's good to follow the rules, but the fact that you didn't provide your bank letter, could also be interpreted as you didn't follow the rules.Anya654 said:My bank didn't give me the letter so I sent 6 months bank statements each for all my 7 accounts.
