I am sponsoring my Wife through outland spousal sponsorship.

On the "Schedule A Background/Declaration form of the application package the 1) box is "UCI"
My wife got a 10 digit UCI number in 2020 for a travel exemption for extended family into Canada during the pandemic. There are no hyphens in the number she recieved.
However on the cic site it says the UCI numbers should be hyphenated.
Do you think we should use the UCI she was given in 2020 on our spousal application form in section and box I described above?

Yes use it. The UCI number doesn't change at all.

What do you think what's the difference between these 2 UCI's:

• four numbers, a hyphen, and four more numbers (Example: 0000-0000) or
• two numbers, a hyphen, four numbers, a hyphen, and four more numbers (Example: 00-0000-0000)

If for example the 10 digit UCI is 0123456789, enter it as 01-2345-6789

There is absolutely no difference how do you enter it. Hyphenated or not, it will work.
