Hello All,

I hope you're all well and are trucking along in the process of immigration. Keep the faith and patience!

Okay, onto my question. My wife, a Canadian born person is included in my application (not accompanying me because well, she's already here in Canada) but CIC even after entering her information is requesting her UCI #? Well, she doesn't and would never have one. Do you know what number I could enter in this box? Perhaps zeros?

Let me know what you think. I'll call CIC in the morning for clarification, but wanted to ask what you all thought.

can I ask why you are including your wife on your application? I suggest you include her in the 'Relatives' form but not as part of your application. She will never have a UCI as she is a Canadian from her date of birth.

That is a really valid question and one I've toyed with quite a bit.

The reason she is included is because we've filed taxes together with CRA (Canadian Revenue Agency), so the government already knows I'm common-law. It's weird in that I'm common-law, not coming with me to Canada (because she's already here) and when looking for clarification, I couldn't find info that would classify a common-law spouse as a relative.

Thanks for the response. I hope this thread can help anyone else in a similar situation.

I've found the answer.
You enter "Not Applicable or N/A". If neither are acceptable in the field, leave it blank.
