Hi,

I am an Indian residing in UAE for the last 4 years.

I came to know that I have the option to apply for a CANADA study permit either from India or UAE.

Which place is better. People say that the chances of rejection is more in UAE (Abu Dhabi).

If I am applying from India, I will be there for only one month. Can I complete all the procedures within one month.

One more thing, I am 31 years old, can I apply through SPP? Is that advisable for a matured person like me?

Awaiting your reply.

Regards,

Its better to apply from Abu dhabi as it is your current place of residence. Just make sure your attaching documents are in order.

Hi,

I am also currently living in UAE and planning to apply for a study permit to Canada. I am from Philippines but working in Dubai for almost 8 yrs. I will submit my documents on June 3. I will include in my application my common law partner and my 8 yrs old son. Hopefully we will get the visa. My parents are already PR in Canada. I am planning to study Bachelor of General Management in University of Lethbridge, i got my LOA. My IELTS score is 7.

I will show my parents properties in Philippines and my common law partner's property in Turkey for home ties. I have a bank statement amounting of 1Mpesos (24KCAD) from my bank in Philippines. Also, I will show our bank statements here in UAE amounting of AED70k (19K CAD) and my common law partner's account amounting of AED100K (28kCAD). I will also submit my letter of employment from my current and previous employers.

Can someone advise me which documents I should include to make my case stronger. Thanks.

Just make sure you provide them with the relevant documents. Over explanation of the case can result in refusal.
What are your educational qualification ? Let me know once you get the visa as i m also planning to apply for next year inshallah.

All the best Cheers !

I have read comments of many people in this forum. Many of them got rejection from Abu Dhabi. But those who have applied from India under SPP have got teh VISA.

I have checked with Abu Dhabi embassy. They sent me an email mentioning I can apply either in my country of nationality or in the country where I am currently residing.

Hi,
1. if you apply from UAE than you can get rejection in basis of weak ties with home country and will not leave canada after study....this is the common reason for rejection for those who apply outside thier home country ..

2. As you living in UAE from last 4 yrs you have to satisify VO that you have home ties and will return to india after your studies so for this you can attach your property evaluation papers , can show F.Ds in indian bank or can show bank statements

Hi, Is it possible? How can we apply from India while being in UAE? I have to do so, because i got my study visa rejected from UAE 2 times without any proper reason. I given everything and i have very strong profile in terms of financial and ties with India, still they are not willing to qualify it in UAE. Please advise.

Actually no one exactly know the answer of this query. I have this query because, when you are filling the form 1294 there is one section 9, which ask about your current county of residence and next section "where are you applying from". So this created a doubt in my mind that whether can we do that? While being in UAE can i apply from India? But apart from that form section, it is nowhere mention on IRCC website, and unfortunately no one on any forum knows about it, even immigration consultants have no clue. So the answer is unknown.
