Hello everyone. I would like to know what u.s residents and citizens are required to get a study permit for canada. I have heard u.s residents and citizens can get their permit at any port of entry. If so, what do you need in terms of documents. Is age a factor of getting a study permit? and how much money you should show. Thank you again for your input

i have a friend from NY who did that last year... He said he showed his letter of admission, letter of financial support (he got a scholarship offer from the university), and there were some documents to be filled up at your port of entry. I am not keen about the specifics, maybe someone in the forum can help you about it.

good luck and take care

Thank you so much for your help. I think it will be easier if they do. It might save time and paperwork through embassies. I am planning to get it at the airport. It is on so many websites, that us citizens can go directly to a port of entry and get it. have a great day

Yeah, I have the same question if you ever found out. I'm trying to apply for the permit at the port of entry. I'd like to know if it's the standard processing time and you "drop it in" at the port of entry or if there's processing at the port of entry.
The documents are proof of acceptance, proof of financial support, bank statements, the 125 or 150 payment or whatever and there are others at cic.gc.ca or whatever that website is its under the "study" section-paper application.
(Oh, yeah, in other words there's a part which names the same papers or whatever)

Hi, I'm a U.S citizen by birth but have been living in another country for many years..... will the study permit process at POE be the same for me or is there something different I have to do?
