U.S. Citizen (husband) marrying Canadian Citizen (Wife)

I have PR Card from canada, and U.S. Citizen. I was living and working in Canada. I lost my job, i was plan to get this summer, I decided to accept jobs anywhere (canada or U.S.). I am getting in two week. Intention is, we decide to move to United States. I will sponsor my wife to U.S.

Question: Is canada border will have any issue with our marriage while we are crosss the border?

As my husband I and did 20 years ago. I was American, he was Canadian. You don't have to deal with Canadian customs going into the US. You have to deal with US customs. If you mention that you are getting married in the US, you will need to have a finacee visa or they will stop you as they almost did with us. We were questioned for 45 minutes, and with many tears, they let us through conditionally, but the proper way is to have a fiancee visa. not worth the anguish and stress the way we did it.

I don't know what is better, I only know what we went through. Suppose it depends on where you both are. I was in fla and he was in ont. I flew up to ont. and we were driving down to Maine to get married. We were stopped for a long time at the Vermont border. I think if you look like you're moving or mention that you are getting married, that may be the reason they stop you. My husband told them he was going to visit his brother in Florida, the took him alone and went through his wallet, asking how is he going to pay for anything when he had no money, etc. It was a horrible day. I would just clarify with customs the best way. Sorry I don't know the legality of all this, just speaking from experience.

I already moved to Michigan and working in Michigan. I was working in Canada before, I lost my job, i found a job in michigan but Wedding date was already finalized before I moved to Michigan.

I'm not sure if I've got this straight, but if you already have a Canadian PR card and are a US Citizen, you shouldn't have a problem crossing the boarder to marry in Canada. If your wife is returning to the US with you, that is more likely where you'll run into problems, at the US boarder.

I think that if you're planning on living in the US together, you should look into applying for the US fiance visa, in which case you'd have to get married in the US. If not, the process is more complicated for newly weds if you wanted to do the American equivalent of sponsoring her to the US.

we already book Halls, preparation was already started. I can't change location as my job was changed. We have nothing to hide. whatever it takes her to move in U.S., we can wait. I dont think there is any option. now.
