U of Manitoba or U of Alberta?

I wanna study a Masters Degree in Canada, I have a doubt, which one you recommend me University of Manitoba (Winnipeg) or University of Alberta (Edmonton)in Business, not only for the academic level, but also for the cost of living, unemployment and living quality of the city, cause then i would like to stay with a post graduate job permit. Help me plz i should to decide next weeks. thanks

I can't provide much about U of A, but I will say that the U of M is awesome (it is where I am currently enrolled).
Tuition is lower than average due to a tuition freeze (which is over now), but I am not sure how that applies to international students.
If you are an international student, you can get Manitoba health care here! There are some restrictions, though, you can't get it right away.
Winnipeg is in a bit of a bubble, unemployment is low.
Living quality... well I will be honest - we call it Murderpeg, murder capital of Canada last year (I believe). Most areas of the city are very safe, but there are a few that you want to avoid (much like all cities).
Over all, I have lived here for 15+ years and never had any experience with crime.

Thank you very much, Im a little bit more decided for Winnipeg than Edmonton, but i will travel with my wife im looking for a job permit for her, and the i would get a job easy, I heard about winnipeg, some comments about the low unemployment and the low cost of living thats intersting, but some peoples says, yes, as you told, the crime is high compared with other Canadian cities, but I'm for a City in Peru with 6 o 7 seven crimes daily jajaja, so, winnipeg should be very secure for us, another bad fact is the cold in winter, its true? too much cold? thank you for your reponse.

Haha yes I am sure it is much safer than Peru
It CAN be cold, but recently the winters are getting better and better. Alberta is pretty much the same.

I would say that most of the questions listed in the topic-starter post are secondary in relevance, despite the disclaimer at the very first post. UofA is a better known university with an excellent academic reputation worldwide. No puns indented regarding reputation of the UofM, it is good well-rounded school, but known mainly locally. UofA, on the other hand, is one of top-100 world universities with well-regarded graduate program in business or economics.

Edmonton, especially areas around University, is very safe, a little boring but rather affordable city to live in. Winnipeg would be a bit cheaper, but not critically. Alberta schools are also bit more generous scholarship-wise and an international student may get a provincial tuition reimbursement paying off half of the tuition (depends on the program). Providing all that I would opt for the UofA, regardless some immediate financial losses comparing to the UofM. School reputation may help getting first job and Alberta's financial market is a hot one. Calgary, for example, is having largest density of corporate headquarters in Canada and one of the largest in North America. Edmonton is also in top-5 places in Canada behind Calgary,Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal and ahead of Ottawa. Alberta also has lowest unemployment rate in this country.
