I have a question regarding my friend who is sponsoring his wife from India.

The address on the wife's passport is not the present address where she is living. At her present address she has no government issued ID other than the rent/lease deed. She has valid passport which is at her very old address.

Does the wife need any Government issued ID of her present address for applying under spousal sponsorship ? If yes what should it be? Her passport and drivers license both have different addresses and both are old addresses where she is not living now.

Also, Does the address given during Medical Examination has to match with the address given to immigration in the forms? ::)

Thanks in advance :)

The information that matters is the one that she will provide in the forms,
she has the option of residence address and mailing address that can be different....

All communication will be send to the address that she provides in the forms...
She can attach an note with the photocopies of the documents that have outdated addresses,
explaining that she recently moved to whatever her address is right now...

Yes, the address that she provides in her medical examination needs to match her current address,
the one given in the forms....

But what should be the bonafide proof of address of the person applying?

Is it not that we require at least any government issued ID at that address such as voter id, national id, driver's license or passport to prove that the person applying is living at the address? or else how will the immigration verify address?

Don't need to prove it. My wife had no document with her current address on it. Anyway we designated myself as an "authorized representative" in case I needed to speak with CIC on her behalf. Once we did that, the forms only asked for MY address, not hers.

This. My husband and I moved partway through our application and we changed the address online. Never had to send any proof that that was actually our new address.
