Typing on the fillable pdf forms

I have typed out all my forms using the fillable pdf files they provide however numbers don't line up with the spaces allocated for them when you type! Will this be an issue for the immigration officer or shall I just re do all my forms and write all the numbers in myself?

can you try to insert spaces to make it readable? it's a WYSIWYG interface (what you see is what you get), so you can play with the font type/size, spacing ect to get the right outcome... make it readable... if it's not readable, they will return it

(edit... you should def try to print and see if it is infact true to screen for your printer/monitor, while it SHOULD be WYSIWYG, i've been reminded by a coworker that it isnt' always ideal! )

i'm assuming you have the full acrobat and not just the adobe reader? you can only save with the full acrobat version...

Shandy, can you give a link to a screenshot or at least identify which form and which field you are talking about? On the subject of saving - I used Cute PDF Form Filler, it is cheaper than full Acrobat.

Readable - yes, but what you definitely want to avoid is ambiguity.

I had major problems in the number blanks too. I just typed in everything that would enter properly, left blanks where it wouldn't and then went back and hand-wrote in those numbers with the fields that wouldn't work. I had thought I was the only one with this problem...

i'd say that's fine too... it'd only be an issue if the boxes/lines make the numbers unreadable/unclear... that to me is more than obvious of information... I don't think any of these forms (for many many reasons) are subject to OCR (optical character recognition), which is the only real reason those numbers would NEED to be in those boxes....

Oh...this is a totally different issue than the one I had. Mine was that in the year blanks on many of the forms, the years I entered would be transformed into a random string of numbers. Super weird. So I had to leave them blank and write them in instead. Oh well. Looked a little less "pretty" but still functional.

I think your situation is perfectly fine. My numbers (the ones that worked) looked the same.

Oh, I see. Yes, this is how it works when you fill forms - typographical aesthetics over alignment, but this is fine - it is legible and unambiguous. I sent forms like that many times.
